Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
The mystery for this one is which will come first, this deck being released or the heat death of the universe.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
So is this for all or only Y4 patreons mystery one. Tbh giving a ltd deck to Y4 Patrons who haven’t yet completed a cycle while Y1, Y2 ,Y3 are still waiting, Y3 not even knowing what the rewards are doesn’t feel very nice. If anything I hope Lotrek would launch the Patreon Mystery to all Patrons and keep a limit to 1/ Patron (past or existing)

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I was all over Crypt when it was released but, after a while, I just sort of went off the boil. It's still a nice deck, in my opinion, but I guess I just got swept up in the hype.

Great example of how different our tastes can be. Without going into too much detail, Crypt is one of my favorite decks.

The foil work is exceptional on Crypt but using reworked courts of his former decks certainly doesn't help Crypt to stay interesting.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
It’s the back design and foil work on crypt that do it for me. It’s a perfect selection of colours.
That being said, I have no enthusiasm for the courts.

[Mystery III, 15 February 2024]
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned and been answered, but shouldn’t this be Mystery IV?
...
Technically, yes. But CRYPT -which is actually the 3rd mystery deck- is a whole different concept that I prefer to keep separate. And certainly a CRYPT II will follow.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I wasn’t around for the release of Arabesque and Damask but I’m guessing Lotrek’s answer implies those two were released without anyone knowing their names or any details whatsoever?
I started collecting around the time Crypt was released and remember it was marketed as Crypt and not a mystery deck as such, in hindsight.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
from the related patreon update about this (since Im sure someone will ask "why is he putting out a new deck!!!!!"
he didnt say what the public price was but um...this isnt a cheap deck....
All decks will be sent from Greece. EDT is April 2024 (no jokes, please...)
The only detail you are allowed to know about the deck is that a special edition of it (on different stock, with different tuck case and different foil colors) will be the base reward for Year 3 Patreon, so working on that deck it means I am also working on the pending rewards...

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
The print run is close to that of Royal Silk , I dont remember how much the Royal Silk retail price was , is this the most expensive Mystery deck out of all 2 / 3 (A + D / A+D+C ) ?

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I think Arabesque was $80 to $100, depending on when you ordered it. The more he revealed, the more it cost before he shut orders down. This one seems to already have a set quantity, which seems high enough that there shouldn't be a fast sell out. I think Damask was a bit more, maybe 100 to 120 euros. I will have to check on Royal Silk. I thought it was around the same price range.
Edit: I paid 70 Euros for Royal Silk

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Okay I found it Royal Silk was 70€ each , but alot of them are available on eBay around same price , I doubt how hyped this Mystery deck will be since 697 is a very big print run but 100€ retail so also I doubt if 697 decks will get sold or not since Crypt and Royal Silk were released during peak collecting era it reached 500 but now I am not sure if 100€ retail will get 697 sold

I paid £84 for Damask Red which, according to the exchange rate for 20th October 2018, was €95.

100€ for a mystery deck with his current delay history is frankly laughable.

I don’t think that quantity will sell out in today’s market either. I am also not fronting more money for a yet to be printed deck. My faith in time estimates is gone. Since there is to be a Year 3 patron variant, I’m good. Whenever that eventually arrives.
I’ll pick this up in the open market later if it is of interest.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Well, no surprise I am getting some. Probably two, but maybe more. Probably not a dozen or two (or a bank robbery would likely be in order). As steampunk noted, those in year 3 Patrons will get a variant, so that is awesome too.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
You know I'm in. I understand people being apprehensive regarding the price tag, and I don't blame those who want to wait to see these out in the wild first. Based on Arabesque and Damask, Lotrek has shown his abilities so I trust the bold claims he is making. Yes, there is hype involved, but his feels more like his own genuine excitement, versus the marketing terms used by a lot of KS campaigns.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
To clarify: €100 with free shipping; to quote Lotrek, "There will be a maximum of 697 decks printed"
He also claims that "these decks are so insanely expensive to produce that we need to raise the funds beforehand"
And the past mystery decks were Arabesque and Damask

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
He's gotten sooo much patreon money in 3 years, I think he can and should cover the costs.
I'm holding my ground and not giving him any more money in advance.
Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Same here. He raised a lot of money on Patreon (without delivering anything besides Redemptions), I doubt that he needs another 69 700 EUR to print this deck.

and besides why are patreons paying €100 for a deck thats likely already printed on the backbones of supporters
shouldnt this deck be at least €50-60 and gen public pay €100
not sure the logic here or what the price difference will be after its open to the gen public
maybe he'll sell them at €110
i wont be to shocked if we see this new black stock used for this "mystery deck"
what a complete joke lowtrek

So, Lotrek has built his reputation on his super blinged out decks. But was Crypt 4 years ago the last one of that sort that he's delivered? Am I forgetting one?

Not one that I can think of, though he does seem to be promising this is one - and we do of course hope that all the patreon decks are of similar bling bent.
But I have also noticed that no one else has produced one since either - due to the difficulties in making such a thing
