Love the mini deck, box and little figurine you can add on to display with it.

Some updates for everyone.

Explore the edge print designs that I have spent a little over a week drawing. Delve into the expansion of the Tails of Mischief with the very suitable mini deck - but that isn't unique enough, so I buried the mini deck in a hand carved, wooden Japanese box, and topped the box with a special figurine printed in Japan of our character Tesso the word mouse (And/Or a special limited custom engraved coin). I collaborated with Elettra and she designed one side of the coin for her La Mouche, while I created the other to show what havoc the mischievous mice are leaving behind them. It is my pleasure to tie my world with hers and I highly encourage everyone to explore La Mouche live now as well!

(I see it is already being shared. Thank you community :) I removed my images so as not to clutter the page! Feel free to reach out if anyone has any questions.)

It's a portion of this delicatessen illustration, which is displayed across the sides of all four tucks.

i, for one, am completely confused by the coin. wth does la mouche have to do with this deck? have i missed where elettra is involved in this tails deck somewhere? is this just some weird cross over of 2 completely unrelated things? it is his project to do as he pleases, i just find it very odd. why would someone want a coin with an ad for another deck on it that fits into a collectors box for this deck? i guess we are just in this age of weird something x something collaborations and crossovers being all the rage.

Both Elettra and Jack are running campaigns at the same time so it's probably just a timing thing and also allows the two of them to do their first coin together. As far as I know neither of them have produced one before and it's a cool concept.

The good news is if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.

i dont plan on buying either the coin or decks but my statement still stands. ill just chalk it up to some weird, unneeded ''collab'' or ''collabo'', as the kids like to say.

At the very least, the collab coin is a clever way to cross-promote. I believe it is more than that in this situation. Both designers are well-respected and admired for their distinct and quirky art styles so it's a cool way for collectors to acknowledge their admiration. It's also a testament to a healthy community where two creators who are technically competing for backers have come together to collaborate. It's a cool thing to see, akin to giving a shoutout in updates to another creator's project that is also live.

Unfortunate. The cards are wonderful in my opinion.

I think Baconwise is spot on with his commentary.

you know, tails of mischief and JBP art style isnt bad by any means. its quite novel, unique and different. i bought a deck from his last campaign in fact. for me, the decks are so similar that having one is enough. its all cloisonne style animal people.

Yes  I had a similar thought in that there's no reason for a tie-in between the two campaigns... but people seem to like it, so more power to them

It is indeed odd and I don't like it. I don't have to like it, to each their own. The diversity of creators and collectors is awesome and really allows for unique and wonderful items. If other people want to get the coin then it has purpose.

In some jurisdictions producing such a coin is tantamount to contract to produce further collaboration. I am not litigious by nature, but I will file suit if they don’t produce a deck together.

Ha, well, I suppose that is my queue to chime in. Legal precedents ensuing.

Thank you everyone for the comments and engagement with the campaign. I am always happy to answer questions and discuss my work and worlds with anyone interested - and though it is my hope, it makes me feel incredibly honoured that any are interested.

For those above not understanding the coin, happy to offer my tuppence. As a creator, I come into contact with a variety of people in this community. I am happy to call some friends now, and more than that - it has always been one of my missions to use my work to help uplift other creatives that I respect. I did this with collaborations in art and other aspects years before my first playing card deck. I am not good at marketing - at all - though of course it is a marketing concept at the most rawest, but my intention generally is to pursue the exploration of the creative process and a collaboration is a way of exploring a new process. Elettra is a beautiful person and I respect her work a lot. I have also made other collaborations and agreements with parties that turned out very badly for me, and negatively impacted my work and life, but all I can do is learn and that will not stop me wanting to engage with people who enjoy my pieces and cooperate with people in our creative pursuits - I try very hard to do this on Patreon with everyone as well. It is my honour to work on something small with Elettra. I, in fact, approached her perhaps half a year ago and asked if she would be interested in making a deck together. We were both busy, and she felt at that time that she was too busy to work on an additional piece (I probably was, too). I left the offer open. She more recently came back to me and suggested something smaller. Together, we thought that a coin was sort of perfect - it is the kind of item that is lovely, collectable, and entirely optional. People can simply not pick it up and will not feel they have missed out on the 'full set', but those that like us both may, perhaps, truly cherish it. In the meantime, of course my hope is to encourage people to explore her project because I want her work to continue and grow, and that it may bring eyes to mine that had not seen it - because smaller creatives need to be...creative...to catch people's attention. We are making very little profit on it, but that was not the point. All that said, it would be a pleasure to work more closely with her, and this may be the slow beginning of a deeper relationship, though it is difficult because everything I create is within the same world - everything is a new window but peering into the same universe. La Mouche, a stray fly, buzzing around a tree root - it feels perfectly adorable to me and not out of place in my worlds, nor in the scene of wood mice in a forest. It is a fly. There are flies on my island of Hotsu...and trees. I would not, for instance, agree to create a coin that had Tom Hanks playing electric guitar on it (as much as I love Tom Hanks), because it would not work in my story. :)

Hope that clarifies my feelings/thought process. Forums like UC are a wonderful place to engage and share ideas between everyone. But I admit, it's a double-edged sword and I do try to avoid it at times because when I read comments like 'all my work is the same' it does affect me and turns me in a spiral. If Beethoven had had access to such discussions, he may have stopped at symphony No.8. ;) Everyone's personal opinion is perfectly valid, and all I can do after over a year of writing original stories that explore original concepts and are inspired by different artistic influences is politely disagree...but it doesn't stop my head spinning.

I do hope this comes across as a person and creative engaging honestly as it is intended, and not in any negative way. Thank you everyone again for your engagement.

And, to change the topic (at least in my head), some pictures of the original orihon colouring book that has just come in...because exploring mediums and creating new ones is exciting...and a message from my son.

My Patreon package arrived (I didn't see a thread for JBP's pateron). I'm super happy with everything, it has been a very fun journey! I will most likely be opening the prototype deck in the coming days when I get some free time.

The kitsune mask came inside the box. The box itself is an "upgraded Tails of Mischief Nest Box. (A top-quality, handmade Japanese cedar wood box (that smells lovely), foil printed and wrapped with a traditional handmade Sanadahimo band)." It's a prototype of the Nest box offered through the campaign, designed to hold all four decks.
