I like the presentation on that website (artbookstores), reminds me (very very loosely) of an Ishihara test.

I have also found the cups you long time collectors drink your tea/coffee out of.
Maybe I can find someone to take one of the pair and then I would only need to find $2,250 US (on rubylane)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/235378693658Incredibly rare, the original of the originals, with the shimmery type paper so sought after. These cards are presumed to be printed before the other brand that was in storage for 20 years. We all know the story. I've been unable to find a pic of any this color anywhere. Had these for sale last year but I lost them, I thought they'd been stolen from my local boutique, but they resurfaced. Seal is broken, box has wear, creasing/scuffing/coming unglued. Cards are nice shape, all 52 cards + 2 jokers are present. Never played with, just lookd at. Sory, shipping to lower 48 only, with insurance. Buy it Now Due Immediately, Auctions Due 4 days after end of Auction. Fast shipping, using various USPS shipping methods, packing done with nearly 100% recycled Packing Materials. Please note I am not a professional grader. Items are graded to the best of my knowledge. Please study pictures carefully, using the zoom feature, as they are half the description. Package Might Not Be Pretty, But We're Saving The Planet, One Package at a Time. Check out my other listings! See my Ebay store! God Bless America!

"Up for auction is a pack of playing cards, which you can play with. They are smooth and flat and have pictures of kings, queens, and servants on them so you have something to look at. You can use them to play poker, or bridge, or Hearts like so many people around the world. Or you can use them in magic tricks to amaze your friends with your knowledge of witchcraft."
Some of these descriptions sound about as good as AI generated gibberish.

I'd be highly sceptical of the red Arrco Jerry's Nuggets.

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
And from Bard:
While most vintage Jerry's Nuggets decks were indeed produced by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC), a smaller batch using different artwork and printed by AARCO exists. Here's a breakdown:
1970s Original Jerry's Nuggets:** These iconic decks with the perforated seal were printed by USPCC. Although never used in the casino, they became legendary among collectors.
1964 Arrco Jerry's Nuggets:** During the casino's opening year, AARCO produced a smaller batch with a different design, aligning with the chips and merchandise of the time. This lesser-known version was later dubbed the "New Vintage Chicken Nugget" by some collectors.
The AARCO design has a slightly different style compared to the USPCC version, particularly in the face cards and Jokers.
Some report the AARCO cards are thinner and firmer than the USPCC ones.

2024 and AI can't even spell the name of a company right? Plus messes up the facts with the parody deck from Hanson Chien? The worse part is that a lot of folks give credit to AI .
According to a more reputable source (as in a human) the red version of the vintage Nuggets seem to be legit btw.

I actually liked the “New Vintage Chicken Nuggets” bit - a pleasant reminder that man is still superior to machine, if only for a little while longer…

Oh my ! The same sellers has a lot of decks with high prices , a Solitaire 17 Gilded set is listed under their shop on eBay for $189 while it’s available on S17’s website for 70$. They have also used the RARE mention in title and description lolTimmargh wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 8:14 pmzlexander wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:47 pm Someone listed S17 2023 Patreon complete set for 750$ + shipping

Also keep in mind that in UK they have their VAT costs to include. If it resells in UK, then that is already covered. I have bought from him before. Really nice to work with as Timmargh said.

I'm actually surprised it doesn't happen more often
Yes, £599.99 for the complete set of 8 decks (+ 2x Carat Cases & Embroided patch) from Stockholm 17's 2023 Patreon.
Is it expensive, sure.
Can you get it cheaper, probably.
Fact of the matter is we base our prices on a number of factors including cost (inc. VAT & Shipping) & Current Sale Prices.
Looking at Ebay just now I can see that past sales have totalled approx. £656 ($837 USD) + shipping for all 8 decks when sold individually.
(OK, So I know this is the maximum they have sold for, but they've still sold at these prices), so I don't think £600 is too far off the mark.

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Can you share how you found $837 ? I would consider max $600 that too is stretching alot , Carat case & embroidered patch with decks & shipping was $240 . Im not sure how much VAT and customs are in UK , still the price of $756 + shipping feels very high, no offence though. Same with the Solitaire 17 Gilded set when Lorenzo has it listed for $70 on his website (cheaper if you have Patreon subscription) $189 feels a bit high . Overall price depends on Seller so I don’t mind much , sellers are free to list whatever price they feel suitable for their productsJacksandJokers wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 5:00 pmHa, Nice to see we're making an appearance on this thread once again.zlexander wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:47 pm Someone listed S17 2023 Patreon complete set for 750$ + shipping

EDIT - Also writing RARE and hyping up is something Im not necessarily a huge fan of , gives a misleading vibe especially to newbie collectors

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Take a look at sold listings on Ebay:
26th Dec: 17th Kingdom Black Knight - Sold for $180
27th Dec: EOTO Windwatcher - Sold for $180
2nd Jan: Odd Fellows Std - Sold for $48
4th Jan: Odd Fellows Ltd - Sold for $120
4th Jan: Solitaire Blue - $96 (Best offer accepted)
21st Jan: 17th Kingdom Avant Garde - Sold for $39
28th Jan: Golden Frog - $102 (Best offer accepted)
29th Jan: Solitaire Red - Sold for $84
Total $849
Whilst we don't know exactly what the best offers sold for I have adjusted the Solitaire Blue figure to match the Solitaire Red figure at $84 giving a total of $837.
If we were to adjust the Golden frog figure as well then this would be from $102 to $90 as sold on 14th Feb.
Hope that helps

Yours were "fair market value" as you let the actual community dictate what the items sold for. Unless you were on crack during your auctions

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
Another not on crack but I could not find any better place to post this opinion
I continue to buy older decks from before I started collecting/following in preference to the slim pickings/interest in recent releases
BUT the price one has to pay thanks to ebay (not that all shipping increases have been their doing) takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it
For example this weeks purchase :
2 of a 2014 deck which the seller did for $50us the two
seemed very fair for 10yo and hard to get - more or less double their original KS price
I like to have 2 but a large part of it is to reduce the shipping cost per item and justify the expense to myself - if the seller had several decks that I wanted, I may not buy 2 but instead several singles
Anyway going back to the example
The seller says postage will be <$24 but when I accept offer ebay lists postage at about $29 itemizing the extra $5 as being seller to them
Then they put on 10% gst on everything including postage so that now makes shipping and GST about $37
So you are paying a fair $50 for 2 decks but the extra shipping and GST take it to $87
You then cop an ordinary exchange rate when you pay by paypal
So all up a $25 deck works out in the vicinity of $45 a deck when buying two decks- there is no way that you could afford to buy single decks
I guess I am going to have to find a 3rd party holding company until I have an economical number of decks to ship
Whinge over

Re: eBay auctions posted by people on crack
When it comes to this deck, I imagine buyers and sellers are both prone to going off the deep end - this from a seller who I believe is prone to high prices (though I got that all from the deck and Italy), but I place it here so that you may either marvel at its price or jump at its opportunity - no judgement from me
