Fortunately I am not enamored by them - my collection has grown too large to fit another lot of mystery packs

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
These look pretty cool to me.
It’s a bit hard to tell from the grid images provided, but definitely keen to see more.
The animal headed courts on some of the decks and the classical sculpture bits on others makes me curious about the titles and if there is a connecting theme between them.
I don’t generally do mystery decks. The unwrapping part is fun but I’d usually prefer to pay a bit more to just get the decks I like.
In this case, subject to seeing more, I’d be tempted.
I like KingStar stock and their previous mystery deck series (Wonderful World) was pretty nice across the board. It helped that my favourite in that series, Swordsman, was also the most common one.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
i agree i dont really get a mystery deck KS campaign. will be interesting to see how they do it. i do like these decks but i AM NOT a fan of mystery decks. i also wonder if these are going to be top flap type tucks or will they be the slide/sleeve tucks that they like to do. i prefer the sleeve type from them.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
They just released an update on Kickstarter explaining they will have a limited tier that allows for purchasing the entire set but at a higher cost per deck than the mystery deck cost of $10-12 per deck.

I kinda like some of them, but not all, so I'm definitely out on this one.

Bad courts imho. Neither very playable nor particullarly artistic.

And do they somehow think this is better? Mystery decks aren't even that great an idea UNLESS every deck is worth as much or more than you are paying. Mystery decks for a (supposedly) yet to be produced series on a Kickstarter just shouldn't be a thing.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
Your comments have been received! The reason for using kickstarter is to let people buy it at a lower price. Therefore, the price of kickstarter will be lower than the later sales price, and there will be an option to specify some special styles during this period.
The annual mysterious deck is our traditional plan, which will be held every year, so we can't change the way these cards are sold. But the value of each deck of cards is higher than the sales price of the mysterious deck, please rest assured.
I will update more design drawings in the next few days.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
Why can’t you change your plan? Mystery decks are such a turn off and waste for many who just want to get a full set. Why not just produce the decks and price the limited one higher instead of making people waste their money (and materials, such as the bag that just gets thrown away) to try and get them all. I have always disliked mystery decks and will not back any such project.
A deck a day helps keep the addiction at bay!

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
There's really no way to assure this. To me it sounds like a way to try to incentivize mystery decks because then you can resell ones you don't want at a higher price. We all know what happens with mystery decks though; a surplus of decks on the market where the burden of sales ends up on the consumer. If you're confident in your product, offer it at the value you think it's worth, and let the community speak with their wallets.
You might be able to get away with once-a-year mystery decks since it might not exhaust your fan base like Fontaine did theirs, but I personally won't support such a practice.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
Kingstar has been gaining a lot of traction in the collecting world, and for good reason. That being said, this mystery deck approach is gimmicky and doesn't add anything positive to the experience, in my opinion. I would love to see them run a traditional campaign, then do mystery deck sales after delivering decks to backers. That's a good way to move inventory, I'm sure.

i like the look of these, especially the egyptian set. i would have loved to see those with the full kingstar treatment. the sleeve type tuck and a nice box set.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」
at least they will be offering a full set, non mystery. i know that doesnt help many people or take much of the bad taste out of the mystery deck part. if their prices continue to be pretty good like their last campaign, silence v3, i will likely get the set on the KS. only because i like what i see so far of all 7 decks. i would not buy 7 decks to get only 2 i liked.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」"Manas-Vijñāna"
It is, but I have to suspect that this is being sold in mainland china where their longterm customer base is as well which makes one of the editions an /500 an absolutely minuscule print run
someone posted the chance of getting a specific deck
(taken from a KS backer post)
there are in total 13975 decks being made
if taking into account the 75 being removed from each deck for the known all in tiers, the random draw odds are:
Deck #1 Judgement, 4925 mystery decks: 1 in 2.73 or about 36.6%
Deck #2 Radiance, 813 mystery decks: 1 in 16.54, or about 6.0%
Deck #3 Rebirth, 1925 mystery decks: 1 in 6.99, or about 14.3%
Deck #4 Fracture, 924 decks: 1 in 14.56, or about 6.9%
Deck #5 Frost, 2925 mystery decks: 1 in 4.60, or about 21.7%
Deck #6 Blaze, 1513 decks: 1 in 8.89, or about 11.2%
Deck #7 Transcendence, 425 mystery decks: 1 in 31.65, or about 3.2%.

All the rest or individual decks? I'll take Fracture off your hands off it's the latter.

Ideally as a group but I would potentially do individual decks.

Re: King Star 2023 Mystery Decks「末那灵识」"Manas-Vijñāna"
I think it's funny it seems everyone wants the 2 Egyptian decks, myself included. To me that seems like a loss for the company since they would probably sell wayy more if the individual decks were sold rather than mystery or a full set

To put a name to a deck.....
Radiance, Fracture, and Transcendence are gilded
Judgment and Radiance are the "Egyptian" decks, Rebirth and Fracture are vaporwave-ish
L-R: Judgment (x/5000), Radiance (x/888), Rebirth (x/2000), Fracture (x/999), Frost (x/3000), Blaze (x/1588), Transcendence (x/500)
