Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
Not sure if this is the best place to put this. I couldn't figure out the best place for this.
Some of you who are on Facebook playing card groups may be familiar with the legend that is Jerry Foster. Ex-magician and card collector. You can see a small part of his massive deck collection in the pictures he's shared below. Estimated at 250,000 decks (lots of repeats as he bought bricks)
He's clearing out his collection on Ebay via a professional Ebay seller, bookgalfromcal here.
There's some really rare finds like the Dell Technologies David Blaine deck, DB's Microsoft deck, Lions Stealth deck and S17's Le Chat Rouge. Worth checking out regularly.

I should see about visiting him, as the sheer scale of such a collection is a sight to behold.

Looks like there's no shipping to the UK. I've messaged the seller as I'd really like that Aquila deck – it's one of the few decks that I regret selling.

Yes pretty big collection , but I think the decks weren’t kept with much protection as alot of decks on auction have dings ,dust , dents and other damages .

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
Fine for me when my intention is to open and keep the deck. Definitely problematic to have them all stacked like that though.

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
Some decks are listed way more than what should ve been a good starting price in respect to the deck condition to me but lets see how the auctions proceeds . Wishing all the best to the auctioneer and participants!

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
I was looking at that “storage system” of stacking decks to the rafters in the open air, without a worry for ding or dent…
There but for the grace of God go I…
Storage method aside - 250k is too many - 100k, thats the sane limit

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
How the heck did he afford that many decks? That's $1 million+ minimum. Googling him doesn't seem to pull up too much regarding his magic performances, so that must not have been his main source of income.

If you're well connected in a scene you get stuff for free. Just like Chris Ramsay or other influencers get decks send from AoP and/or other brands.

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
As I said earlier there are stuff on his listings that have a very high starting point . The Magna Carta imo is not worth 750$ . The deck deck has lots of scratches and damage , if I have 600$ for the dell deck I would rather wait for a better condition one to show up at same price or just save 1- 200 extra to get one in proper condition though I strongly believe that at 600$ you can find one in mint conditiondouble_left wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 8:13 am 55C5AAE9-1F8D-4C9D-A6C7-AE33CAEF16EA.jpeg

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
The Magna Carta box has been sold in the $600-700 range on more than one occasion. He's using someone to sell his decks for him, so it makes sense they are starting high on some of the rarer decks. Hopefully they'll reduce each item's price until they're sold.

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
750$ + tax + shipping makes the price high and there is some little damage . I do feel that too , that for the decks that ended without bid hopefully they relist at a lower starting price.kevork wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 3:05 pm The Magna Carta box has been sold in the $600-700 range on more than one occasion. Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
Frankly, I'd sell mine at the $600 I bought it for. It's got a scratch on the back which isn't visible at the normal viewing angles.

Re: Jerry Foster is selling off his collection
Just got my Les Méliès playing card decks from them, and awaiting my first Jody Eklund deck. It's nice not having competition on some of these, as a few I really wanted.
