Yeah, I don't like bridge cards either, bur I am sure this is how Ian is trying to keep costs low so it can fund. I sure wish more would appreciate his work so it wouldn't have to be made on the cheap....Ah well. I am in for sure.

I did ask him on FB if these were only available in Bridge format and he blocked me, so I guess he's aware of how people feel about it and finds the subject annoying.

Dunno why people are so set on a specific size. Maybe it's because I'm European but bridge size has all the advantages and no downsides while poker size has a disadvantage when using them for games that require to hold more cards like bridge, canasta and so on.
Not to mention that for an excesive collection they take less storage space .

I do prefer poker size but its not a dealbreaker for me.

I'm speculating, but perhaps the reason for bridge size in this case is that they are closer in aspect ratio to the Topkapi cards.

The dimensions of the cards: the cards will be printed at a modern playing card size. The Topkapi cards are huge compared to modern playing cards, and they also have a very tall and thin aspect ratio. So one of the challenges for me in drawing these cards was to make sure the pip layouts worked at this rather different aspect ratio.

Although bridge size is obviously not as narrow as the Topkapi cards, it is definitely closer than poker size.

Or maybe its just personal preference :shrug:

Europeans are used to them . They are much better for games where you are holding more cards.
