I don’t know bout you and everyone else, but what I think…
Should NPCCD annual decks continue next year, I suggest that Alex watered down the number of decks upon release, like have it at one or two, and can go back to crazy 6 decks set once he gets a well grip on the wheels

UC decks are pretty much no longer a thing. NPCCD decks are no longer a thing. I asked for and received a refund eventually. I do wish Alex the best, but I won't be supporting going forward.

For me they are still both a thing - when and if they should exist - not every deck is a winner for me but I like the ones I like

Anyone hear anything new on this or Limbo? I think his previous estimate was end of oct. I've emailed him a couple of times in the last few months about different things and never heard back. Hope he's ok.

In the latest Nazo Nazo post 2 days ago by Jack, he mentions:

Due to changes in sizing from prototype to final product, there was some extra room inside the cases. So, the creation of inserts to fill the space was discussed between Alex, Sherman and myself. In the previous update, Alex said that he anticipated batching the gilded Onsen and insert replacements in one go - so, once they are ready they will be shipped to Portfolio52 and should be sent on to backers.

This implies Alex is not completely absent. I too have sent him an email asking to refund me a set of NPCCD (I had ordered two complete sets prior to his disappearance). Waiting to hear back as well.

I got my refund a while ago, although it took several prompts to get a response. Keep trying would be my recommendation.

From now on, I might not buy or preorder a deck unless I can fully see it! So that way, if there's any issues, I can decide to cancel or wait depending on how the deck is.

Hopefully you are as fast as the Flash to do this. Cuz last time, I almost fail to cop the stragglers of NPCCD 2020, and I won't make the same mistake by pre-ordering this NPCCD 2022 (+2021)

I don't even mind the wait so much as next to no updates (there was 1 in June). People spent a lot of money. Alex seems to be back in the swing of things, but still no updates or doesn't reply to emails. Just tell us what's happening. Delays can be forgiven. Silence always just annoys most people who support a creator.

This is the story of my life though! I'm fairly new to card collecting compared to some of you, and I had to resort to aftermarket prices on the older NPCCD decks. Now that I finally pre-ordered my first NPCCD decks....this bad luck bullshit happens...like usual to me.

I never pre-ordered and I got quite good deals on NPCCD decks on the past. Like playingcarddecks.com always had the complete sets on sale if you were patient. Getting completely rid of fomo was the best thing happening to me. Times are to unreliable in the playing card community currently - it's a shame. I tend to throw my dollars at real decks these days as well and not on woulda/coulda/shoulda-decks.

MIA for another 6months without refunds shows us many probably asked for our monies back with only a select few to receive it -add me to the list of no return either-
alex to not even communicate ANYTHING is a huge red flag regardless of what people are going through in life
the excuses and delays in the playing card world is gettin outta hand
at this point I believe decks will be made eventually but dont expect them anytime soon with the radio-silence that has been seen
let these situations sink in a little bit before pre-ordering anything from now on
just bc someone came through in 2015-2019 doesnt mean they can come through in 2023-2024 with the way people and businesses are struggling
wouldnt shock me if these funds where used elsewhere and we see another preorder to make up for this failure of a project @alberto68

Going further on the scammer angle: Nazo brought in $131,981 - and were I a scammer looking to run off with Blind Tiger money I certainly wouldn’t have passed up running off with Nazo.

The difference is that Nazo Nazo is a collaboration between two individuals and not Alex individually. To be clear, I am not saying Alex is a scammer, just pointing out that it isn't an apples to apples comparison. Maybe Alex had full control of the money, in which case he could have run off with it but hard for any of us to say.

I wouldn't bother. Doesn't help us at all. The point is, he didn't steal them and I still don't believe he's a scammer. Whatever is happening the lack of communication is unacceptable and I think that is a fair statement that everyone can get behind. I am sure something pretty severe must be happening to prevent him from updating and I hope he gets through it. Nobody would tank their reputation, especially Alex who goes to 52+J every year and is a guest speaker.

No need to bother Jack with it. Alex had sole control over the funds and production and there were periods where Jack was out of the loop as well, although he would have periods of contact with Alex when possible. Moreso than the rest of us.

My biggest gripe at the end of the day is the lack of communication. Last I spoke to Alex was end of July when I told him production updates would be super helpful, and he seemed very receptive. It's unfortunate that we haven't had an update in in the 5 months since then, but I am confident we'll get our items eventually. I have asked for a refund back in October for one of my two sets. Even though I have not received a response yet, I expect Alex will honor my request once he's back in front of the computer.
