This is precisely why I gave up on KWP; it just felt like too much and I thought to myself, "F*** this."Strag wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 4:24 am Many years ago I was a KWP completionist. I backed his first campaign and went all-in on quite a few others after that. I still own almost 150 unique KWP decks and over 350 in total, but I haven't bought one directly in over 4 years and only picked up a few from Penguin Magic to round out orders in recent times. It became clearly impossible just to keep up with even the base decks, especially if you were international. Way too many times of missing out on special sales, even as a subscriber, and once the Internaltional collated shipping stopped it just was far too expensive.
FOMO left the building a long time ago for me. Variant after variant and reprint after reprint. I still think that Jackson can be an amazing designer and has done some incredible work. But it's no longer something I want to "chase".

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
I've never seen the value in all the different variations either -- even way back when he first started off, the Legacy editions never grabbed me (even recently, like the Mistborn Legacy -- terribly boring, it's just wood), especially at the prices they are. I'm perfectly happy going after somewhere between "some" and "most" KWP decks, but unless the cards themselves are different (e.g. Romeo and Juliet standard vs. limited), I have close to zero interest in gilded, legacy, etc. editions unless they really grab me, which is rare
Being a KWP completionist is absolutely bonkers IMO, but JR has a dedicated following and as long as his business model works, more power to him

That's a fact, not an opinion, haha.
I don't see KWP trying to cater to hardcore collectors though. I'd say Jackson is more interested in the occasionally returning customer. That's why he serves to a lot of different markets: licensed themes, classic litrature, OG designs, antique fans and so on. Especially in times where backer numbers are dropping, I'd say a very smart move.

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
I never was KWP completionist. Being from EU that was always a bit pricey endeavor. But I have quite a lot of decks because I was a subscriber (std, ltd, gilded) for two whole years (June 2019 to October 2021). Now looking at the orders and I've spent $5000 before VAT applied. Now I feel like making a limited selection of my favourite decks for the KWP display shelf and selling the rest. I remember my excitement during the "moving sales" where I was just starting with my collection, now I couldn't care less.

Hmm. I really like that tuck. But yeah, that card back isn't really doing it for me. The faces are a notch or two above what you'd typically see at stores at a national park. As someone who spends a lot of time hiking in the mountain wilderness though, this has appeal to me. Sitting on the fence for now.

You got me curious so I added mine up. I keep track with shipping and customs included and my total came to $5800. Pretty nuts considering I have bought almost nothing for the last few years.masagin303 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 6:18 am I never was KWP completionist. Hum. They have my invoices, but it evidently cut off in November of last year. I haven't spent as much this past year though. Anyway, if I add it all up it comes to $8,208. Ouch. That doesn't include Kickstarter projects either.

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
My last order on KWP site was on October 1st 2021. More then 2 years ago. I don't even check the site because costs to get those decks to EU isn't really worth it. Typically events like 12 days of Christmas are totally pointless because you cannot even consolidate the shipping costs.Strag wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 11:29 amYou got me curious so I added mine up. Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
Im sure thats an intentional ploy, even in the us where the shipping costs are only $6-$8 hes succeeded in getting me to buy at this point about $70 of extra decks to go with the $25-$30 thing he put on sale for (functionally) that day only to make the $50 free shipping.masagin303 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 08, 2023 3:45 pm

yes I do wish there was a option to buy what you want and get it after 12 days, but even the shirt from yesterday is only available until tomorrow...(and Im not getting it as a result since Im not putting in another $50 order by then).

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
So, how does the subscriber advantage work? If you're a subscriber and you're signed in to the regular site, you'll get access to the page before non-subscribers? Or, do you need to be logged into the subscription site and look for a page to show up there?
I just wants me a black Overbite, I think.
I'm assuming that it's still the case that putting it in your cart doesn't guarantee it'll still be there when you check out, so trying to go for each of the different gilded versions of Overbite might end up costing you all of them, no? Better to just go for one and check out?

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
subs were sent a link to a separate page before it started last week, it changes every day.
half the time when I click on the account button its logged me out so no its not tied to that, and even then kwpsubs is a different site entirely so I dont think the two talk.
it has stock 10min before everyone else sees it on the main site.
Im a little bit worried about the same thing, overbite black will be ok for a few minutes gilded for the original 3...will not.
But that assumes they sell all of it the same day.....

It absolutely doesnt I played with this a few days ago, adding to cart does not decrement from available (at the point I was playing there were 44 gilded fez for example and you could add them all if you wanted). I dont know when the actual secured point is probably in the checkout screen.I'm assuming that it's still the case that putting it in your cart doesn't guarantee it'll still be there when you check out, so trying to go for each of the different gilded versions of Overbite might end up costing you all of them, no? You should be able to go to kwsubscriptions.com and login there, and then click "Members" at the top, and then the "Members Release" button takes you to a page on the KWP site. Right now I see all three Hocking Hills decks, listed as sold out

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
12/10 day 10
Battle Axe.
https://kingswildproject.com/products/battle-axe-std
The "day" text says regular, SE and legacy, no mention of base Gilded (though it is on the product category page, the gilding is red)
normal edition has a red back, the special/legacy is blue
Special edition is also gilded in blue
cards are pretty standard though appear to be going for a "weathered' look
I think unless there are any actual base gilded "I sleep" at least until I can combine a base deck with something else for shipping purposes.

It is a recreation of the original Battle Axe joker, similar to all of the vintage reimagined series.

Black, with a $45 SE that is signed its a /60 (seriously?)
it looks like they are all gilded(?)

and of Course the original red/blue/green

listed with a $25 "gilded overrun"

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
General question:
So this is a while back, I remember JR saying that he was committed to printing all decks with either EPCC or USPCC for the foreseeable future. I took issue with the quality coming out of China at the time, the card stock being overly thick, rigid, and unwieldy for my taste, not to mention the foil application being spotty and warping certain cards. USPCC, well, I think those problems go without saying. I haven't revisited KWP in some time and wanted to ask if anyone has noticed any improvements pertaining to the above issues, or if the company has updated its printing allegiances. Thoughts?

Re: KWP "12 Days of Christmas" 2023
They don't print with either USPCC or EPCC anymore. They use a smaller printer that I can't remember the name of at the moment, it's not one you've likely heard of before. The quality of the new printer is less than they've used previously ( the first few decks they printed for him handled like butt) but has been improving.PiazzaDelivery wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 12:31 pm General question:
