"Stop War"
"Stop War" It's not just a deck of poker cards, it's the cry of the soul of millions of Ukrainians! Who woke up on 24.02.2022 in a country engulfed in war!
Hello, my name is Chervona Ruta (pseudonym, mythical flower of Carpathian beliefs.). I'm from Ukraine! The beautiful city of Odessa, where the sea, so gently caressed us, until my country did not come to war! My work is dedicated to the horrors that filled our homes!
I'm in the process of preparing a page on kickstarter. If all goes well, I plan to launch on 10/17/2023.

Re: "Stop War"
War is not about politics! It's about destroying people's lives! War destroys human lives! Nobody wants their families or homes to be affected by war.

Re: "Stop War"
I don't want anyone to pick up weapons! My writing emphasizes that war is a terrible thing that can affect your home! Instead, I advocate for peace! That's why I named my deck "Stop War".

No worries, hsbc just wants to preemptively remind folks of the forum rules. So that we don't digress from the deck itself.
You have some nice artwork for the deck.

I, too, really like these designs and the artwork. Keep us updated on your progress, please.

Re: "Stop War"
Welcome Ruta and thanks for posting! My note above was because we have had arguments here before, and we try to keep this subforum, New and Custom Decks, only about cards -- the artwork, playing card printers, etc.

Re: "Stop War"
Thank you for the feedback! I don't advocate war and conflict! It's equally terrible for every human being, regardless of the country where it happens. My work aims to fight violence against people, no matter where they come from. I'll keep sharing my creations!

Thanks for the feedback. I may have overreacted, but there was no ill intention.

Still working on them! But I'll try to make sure they don't get out of the general concept of the "Stop War" cards

Re: "Stop War"
I disagree. I like when custom playing cards pay homage to traditional design (for the most part). Specifically in this case, when it comes to non-court cards, I would prefer the deck be "playable" and not let the artwork get in the way, so to speak.RutaChervona wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 10:37 am Still working on them! But no sense in setting you out to be guilty of a crime you didn't commit yet! Like I said, I look forward to seeing them.

Re: "Stop War"
For maps 2-10, I will take the traditional path. I only approve of a theme-specific background, such as this rough outline.vasta41 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 2:57 pmI disagree. Maybe something along those lines... Just a lighter background...vasta41 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 2:57 pmI disagree. Re: "Stop War"
second option is better by far.
One thing on the overall theme, your human/architecture focused aspect is good, not sure I would continue with the "burning T-72" in the background type of art.
That card might be better with craters in the field than the tank.

Thank you! It's still in my head for now... I'm still thinking of the best way. In the meantime, I'll continue to share the sketch. This is what the face of the box will look like.

That's what I think too! That a backdrop of destroyed cities, or buildings would be the right way to go.Evilgamer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 5:05 pm second option is better by far.

I don’t know if the planes belong or not, but I think the image is just as strong without them unless they are included for more than balance

Re: "Stop War"
I'll repeat myself especially for you! Violence or war is equally bad. Anywhere on the planet! Or do you think otherwise? And most interestingly, what makes you think it's an F-16? And not, say, any other warplane?!? What kind of prejudice is that? And anyway, why bring politics into it? Emphasizing some brand of airplane or tank?
Do not put your fantasy on my work, it does not make you look good!!!!

I wish you luck with your project, it seems you want an argument where there was none before.RutaChervona wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 11:51 amI'll repeat myself especially for you! And we've been specifically asked not to go into politics, so I wont share my view on any matter here.
And I know more about military hardware than probably 90% of the people in the world (at least those not in the military). Certain units have a distinct look.

Re: "Stop War"
Wow, this got weird.
And, even to my untrained eyes, those look very much like F-16s.

Re: "Stop War"
They don’t bother me at all, just noting it wouldn’t lose it’s impact to me and I see others point on not having symbols of the causes of destruction over highlighting the suffering they cause - that being said I also see the point in having them there - depends on what purpose they serve.
It’s hard to tell if they represent attackers or defenders and seem to generally convey wartime, which I think is conveyed without them - but as stated, that doesn’t mean it bothers me to have them or that they add nothing to the art…

Re: "Stop War"
To summarize the front of the box. I saw divisive opinions! Some people consider themselves experts based on my sketches of the airplane. To each his own... Some, like me, see the concept as a whole! I'll keep that in mind and fix it
