It would have to diverge a LOT from those teasers for me to not buy these. I love these sort of semi tribal/art-deco designs. Hope that everything is custom, and these aren't just the backs...

Some more pics from System6 before they come to KS in a few days - The tuck and aces look great - looking forward to seeing the rest of the deck.

Looks like there will be a clip as an add on too.

Definitely one of the nicer ks decks of recent times, with a great style. Reminds me vaguely of Sentinels for some reason but these appear to be well thought out and designed. Cool stuff!

Méh, not really anything that entices me. Kinda bland for my taste. And why are all the court cards really old and disheveled looking?

Lol, I wondered too, but then I stopped to read the first line of the project which is, 'A deck of playing cards inspired by the Wayang Shadow Puppets of the Island of Java, Indonesia.' So then I googled it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayang" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Looks like the puppets are kinda old and pruny looking, so seems they did a good job capturing the look. :D

I'm not particularly keen on the courts being 'uglyfied' but I absolutely LOVE the custom aces so I had to pledge for a few decks.

Wiseguy, eh? ;) Save it for the "Last person..." thread, it's been kinda quiet lately.

Fair enough, but that doesn't really match with the rest of the theme. The Aces are somewhat futuristic or technological, the courts are based on those old puppets, and the back design seems to be a mix of the two. And the mix doesn't really work IMO :|

I have to agree with MagikFingerz here. This deck is all over the place. I love the Aces. I'm OK with the courts, even if out of place from the aces (although it does seem they kind of cut corners on the Queens - they all look the same to me). But the back is even more out of place for me and I'm not digging it at all. Unless the back changes, this is an easy no for me.

Oh and I don't like the one way lotus either.

I'm from Indonesia, and I don't see the theme is closer to Wayang theme.
Also all the shape that used is not even match Wayang theme. I would say this is like a Mayan theme which has modern touch to it.

I was about to say just this (Maybe pass as Incan / Aztec too) - make the courts look like the Nazca Lines animal images and we have a winner!

The best way I can describe Wayang is like a mix between Indian and Japanese art. This deck doesn't come close to any of those styles. They're playing it too safe with the court cards, trying to maintain their traditional identities.

definitely agree with you.
While ago I've been playing with Wayang theme design, and it come like this.

not mean to compare mine with System 6 courts design, but I still appreciate what they does with the courts :D

Hey everyone thanks for the feedback, we are updating the lotus on the back and making all the pips match the aces.

WE MAY change the face, possibly..The deck is not a Wayang themed deck, but inspired by the Wayang shadow puppets..Its not meant to be the "theme" thats why we named it Believe, its more of a source of inspiration.

How would you like ot see the faces?

If they could not ALL look like Rupert Murdoch that would be fantastic.

Perhaps that isn't fair - but they just seem overworked. The huge lips, squinty puffy eyes, frowns, cleft chins in combination isn't attractive. And they ALL have the exact same features, bar a moustache here and there. It's all a bit incestuous.

I personally don't mind the face on the back so much - so maybe bring some of those features forward into the courts - antlers, occulus, diamonds etc.

Simplify. Diversify.

That is hilarious and accurate. Back design is okay by me, maybe some minor tweaking.
But, the faces all looking like the same aging Italian grandfather (especially the queens) ... not so much.
No offense to aging Italian grandfathers ... .. and queens. :?
