The second paragraph makes them a hard no for me.

These are pretty much a cardistry deck, right? I don't own any Orbit decks and while a set of mini decks sounds fun, I do agree with Harv. If secondary market hype is used as a means to advertise the deck, no thank you.

Mini Orbits - V1, $15

Image

LIL BITS RETURN! Half the size of a standard Orbit deck. A perfect mini replica of our very first edition Orbit deck from 2015. Don't let the small size fool you, it fans and handles very similarly to standard Orbits. You have to try it to believe it. We plan on producing a total of 12 mini's for our 12 primary Orbit editions. If you ever felt late to the collector's party, now's your chance to collect these! We recommend getting at least 2. One for personal use and one for your collection. A perfect deck for all the true Orbit heads across the planet. WE ARE ORBIT Print run: 2,000

As much as I frown upon the secondary market sales pitch, selling v1’s at 100 bucks each was just giving away money to anyone with an ebay account and a desire to more than triple their money. Don’t think they makes any promise of it being worth a dime next year though, so they did manage to tick me off even given that pass.

Still - I did grab some mini v4’s (had hoped they would handle better, but they are not cardistry grade) - didn’t realize they were going to do the whole series in mini (silly me) - but I figure I will be a completionist “just one last time” on the minis. At least a completionist up to v4 or v6 (I think thats where I left off in the full sizes)

The full sized ones grabbed me originally as a magicians deck, for the unique markings on whichever version it was (5 or 6 I think)…

I like the idea of having a full set of 12 mini decks, but at $15 + $5 shipping each time, I'd much rather wait and grab all 12. Am I taking a risk in not being able to obtain all of them? Perhaps. If it comes to that, then it'll be easy for me to pass on them. But $180 + $60 shipping effectively makes it a $20 deck and I'm not too keen on that. It is nice to know that limited print run for Orbit is 2,000. Reasonable hype.

With the low print runs compared to normal orbit runs and the length of spacing between releases I figure this is the only way to get them unless you are a rabid orbit fan and willing to play way more than I am for them.

Quite the bummer that it is no longer set up as a box containing 2 mini decks. No more: “convincing the digital folks that you got an actual sized deck for darn cheap” trick

Marking on Orbits start from v6;
V6 : just the very subtle difference that makes it one-way, hence most would consider this not marked because it’s hard to notice the difference
V7 : was marketed without the words “marked”, yet thanks to the investigations of others, now we aware it is marked
V8 : Said “marked” deck from the start

6 and 7 both it was. Then they had that alternate 7 version - missed it, and thus the chain was broken and I was released from the spell.

You beat me to it, brotha. What does it say about a product if the biggest point in the sales pitch is that one day it may have a high resell value? I'll pass.

Mini deck with mini ding... so cute

AoS pretty darn underwhelming though - kills it even more than the advertising for me.

Getting a standard V4 seems likely to be a difficult quest
How much do you think one should have to pay for a V4?

Thanks Gandalf, somehow I had not seen that one. Problem is that postage and GST take it to about 80 beans. I am trying to keep my resolution to not pay over 66 (that is 100 of our beans)
