It's unreasonable for me to expect anyone to watch through 3 1/2 seasons to get there, but S04E04 is one of the best episodes of TV I've seen. Overall, the series can be pretty hit or miss though.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:57 am I never watched a single second of the show. Re: Stranger Things by T11
80's baby here and fan of the series. I suppose they could have illustrated this deck to be normal bodies either one way or mirrored...kinda how they illustrated Eleven in the Ace of Spades. Personally I like the more traditional approach to court card designs so this doesn't bother me at all, actually didn't even think about it until this comment. But sure, the courts are bulky, but also on brand in terms of t11 and other playing card designs IMO. Would be funny to see what Midjourney thinks a standard bicycle court card would look like as a real human! I'm sure we'll see an Upside Down edition next (I hope)CourtCurator wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 11:54 am Tuck looks great, as per usual. But, what’s with the tiny heads on big bodies? Looks weird.

I would like to see this deck used in the next season in a casual manner where it wouldn't be so in your face but noticeable to those of us who collect playing cads.

“Dear Billy” - OH YESH, that’s definitely the epic episode in Season 4! I listened to Kate Bush “Running Up That Hill” after itPiazzaDelivery wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 12:06 pm It's unreasonable for me to expect anyone to watch through 3 1/2 seasons to get there, but S04E04 is one of the best episodes of TV I've seen. Good news! Max is in the lineup!!
Probably won’t be possible XD the series is set in 1980s, modern decks like this don’t exist yet, hence don’t get your hopes up
Although… there is a Bicycle deck spotted in S04E01!

Strange coindcedence that I just lately rediscovered Running up that Hill some weeks ago. Dunno what the song has to do with the series but I guess to celebrate Kate Bush I gotta grab a deck.

It was a very powerful scene, and the music was used perfectly. The episode was brilliantly executed.

I like the clothing pattern. It makes the subtle details stand out more, like the D20 and the baseball bat.

Although, the welcome sign is vandalized with grafitti - the word "Hell" covers the name of the town, implying the once quite town is now filled with horrors of the supernatural.
- Ace of Diamonds - Palace Arcade, the arcade of Hawkins, Indiana. It is a great hangout place for the children of the town. The children gang loves to collect pennies so that they play games here. - Max is a skateboarder, owning her own skateboard covered with stickers.
- She listens to music using her casette player. She shut herself from others after a tragic event that lead her traumatized. Her favorite song is Kate Bush "Running Up That Hill".
- King of Diamonds - Lucas Sinclair, the impulsive kid in school and the brave one in the children gang. Ever since he met with Max, Lucas got a crush on her. At first, the relationship wasn't panned out, yet he would like to rekindle the love after a chain of events.
- His weapon of choice during his first encounter with the Demogorgon is the slingshot. (A possible reference to a scene where Beverly hits IT with silver chunks)
- In high school, Lucas joined the National Basketball team. During one momentous game in Hawkins High, he becomes the "talk of the town" after he successfully score a "buzzer beater" that won his team for the first time.
Extras
The Extras feature even more easter eggs to the television series.
- Extra A - Christmas Lights Ouija, the makeshift spirit board made with Christmas lights! After knowing a way to contact Will, Joyce strings up Christmas lights on her living room's wall and then uses black paint to write the letters. There is a slimy portal appear beneath the plaster of the wall, as the Demogorgon tried to claw in.
- Extra B - Hellfire Club, the high school's club that likes the hyped roleplaying game "Dungeons and Dragons". The leader of the club is Eddie Munson, who is also the campaign's Dungeon Master (the game's term for Game Master). Although, with the string of murders happening in Hawkins, the group becomes a target of paranoia as fake news spreading about the game being satanic and evil, influencing the players into occult practices. Eddie soon becomes the prime suspect of the murders.

Think I’ve done the guide for Dune and The Avengers (of course, since I’m MCU fan). Mandalorian… think I’ve done that too
Can’t do much with James Bond since the courts are all standards - the big disappointment of the deck

Thank you! Your guides not only help me figure out the characters on each card, but the hidden easter eggs and history of the characters. So I place them in a folder in my hard drive with reference photos of the card decks.

Re: Stranger Things by T11
SURPRISE! There is an interior artwork of the deck - it's the wallpaper of the Byers Home with the flap side shows the makeshift Ouija Board with the Christmas Lights. The letters R, U, and N are lit up, a message from Will that said: "RUN"
WOW! I am SO FALL IN LOVE with this deck!A furry who has a sona of a magician ;3

Re: Stranger Things by T11 (ill. Clark Orr)
FYI, this deck was designed by Clark Orr, who also did Mastermind and the Dark Knight
@clarkorr wrote:New Work: Stranger Things x @theory11.
When Stranger Things first came out, so many people asked me what I thought of it because of my love of 80s nostalgia, that I almost didn’t want to watch it as to not get bummed if I didn’t like it. The truth is, I dug it, but it wasn’t until taking on this project that was able to fully appreciate how rich and special the series is. It’s pretty surreal having worked on this official project for Netflix and Theory11, there’s almost so much diverse imagery in the series, it felt overwhelming to know what and how to incorporate. Definitely one of the more insane things I’ve been fortunate enough to work on. Shouts to @theblksmith and @jbayme for creative direction, photography supplied by @theory11

Looks like another version is coming. "Not quite" a re-color, according to the instagram comments.

Cool. Makes a lot of sense for the theme.

Re: Stranger Things by T11 (ill. Clark Orr)
Maybe it’s gotta be like: the Upside Down Version, a slightly update artwork to shows the mirror world or something
But i would not gotta believe T11 until they show what they claimed

Ah, another deck potentially behind a box paywall. If so, I'll have to pass.

trying to reconcile the 2 latest pictures. is this a deck in a sleeve with another sleeve or band? they cant come up with original themes anymore so they are just going to start adding multiple sleeves?

It looks like a VHS tape box, not necessarily a sleeve. Maybe the band is designed to keep the tuck from sliding out.STLBluesNut wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 12:56 pm trying to reconcile the 2 latest pictures. is this a deck in a sleeve with another sleeve or band? they cant come up with original themes anymore so they are just going to start adding multiple sleeves?
