If they manage to emulate real coin finishes, like GandalfPC has shown, then it'll be indeed a step up and the coin will be an actual addition for the set. I'm looking forward to see the new prototypes.

Still working on the new coins. They are being cast.

In the meantime had to push forward with photography using the existing coin.

I think it looks fantastic. My only quibble is that I don't care for how the "8" index looks. Everything about the deck looks elegant but the number. A strange looking font and too thin.

Noted. I do think Kevin is particular about his typography choices tho!

Here are some more faces to look through.

I don't know the current state of the market, but hopefully the playing card community has 1,000 people able to spend $100 on this. Perhaps it'll be a litmus test.

I'll be preordering this one.

I think over time they will sell out. The preorder need only generate the funds to initiate production. Which I think it will. Although I could be surprised. $100 feels like a lot but again if you break it down to $33 a month like subscription services you might see from KWP or Lorenzo or Lotrek or Gio it’s right in line.

I'm slowly being won over. Still having trouble getting over having to purchase the unnecessary bits, but the deck is undoubtedly one not to miss. It will be touch and go for me, on the fence.

I know I was hesitant on a box/coin set, but my friend just showed me a picture of a setup he just did, and now I'm more convinced that these coin/deck combinations will look phenomenal.

Yep. These many multiple decks are getting too much for me. I have just had to pull back from most of them. I mean I went in over $300 for Successor and still came away without the top deck, which is crazy. I went in for like $200 for LOTR with KWP and didn't get the Legacy. I am just at the point where these super-expensive decks are just too super-expensive for my budget.

Not a post I ever expected to see from Bradius but I fully understand the costs associated with this hobby. It seems like things are getting higher and higher, thus the value is diminishing and making it harder to be a collector. You can either change your collection style (from complete sets to just specific decks) or really take a step back. I think it's hard on all of us and something I grapple with as well.

My thoughts have recently centered on what will my kids do with thousands of decks of playing cards. That is if I stop collecting now. That is not even considering all the other items I collect. At the same time, I shudder thinking of selling them off, not due to letting them go but the effort involved!

Your kids might enjoy them or they may decide to part ways with them. Selling them off would be a colossal effort with that many. You would need to find someone to buy many of them as large lots I imagine.

I forget who it was either in this community or collecting in general, who would put a price tag sticker underneath their big ticket items so that their children would know the approximate value to sell the items for in the event it came to that. It's a massive undertaking for anyone really and just the few times I've posted to sell, I've realized what a hassle it can be. Bulk sales are probably the best bet, especially to a retailer who is willing to flip the more common but still rare ones over time.

Some of you know that I recently have decided to purge a lot of older and duplicate decks. My collecting methodology has under gone a massive shift from the initial days of buying everything and anything (partly because I never knew what the audience wanted to see/or I wanted to give them variety) to being much more selective with what I buy (but still also receiving a ton of promotional packages from folks who wanted me to review their stuff in my video making heyday) to now only wanting or keeping a very select few decks from my personal favorite (and often close acquaintance and friend) designers. For me thus far selling the decks via eBay auction (all starting at $1) in batches og 60-75 has been the way to go and I believe yielded acceptable returns of value. And even if some decks sell for less than I would like or expect (which rarely happens) then I still felt like I rented the enjoyment of owning the deck for a small fee over the years. The additional income will to get new more meaningful releases surprise you (especially for throw away decks that you bought on a whim that mean little or nothing to you).

Are these shipped from the States? Wouldn't want to pay EU import taxes on top of that $27 shipping.
I will probably end up ordering these, but I'm just trying to avoid surprises.

Due to the limited quantity and for simplicity's sake, we will be fulfilling from Texas (Gambler's Warehouse) only.
