Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
I got mine and love them. No issues for mine, though I only got the black and the blue deck. They came out great. Only slight negative is more of a Cartamundi issue in that the texture of the stock they use makes the foiling on the black deck a bit muddy with fine detail. Though that's true for every foiled Cartamundi deck I have and I knew that going in. Wonderful design and great additions to my collection.

Also have the markings on the white tuck. But everything was very well packaged and arrived in great condition. I got all the decks except Prism and some uncut sheets.

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
Evidently, I researched the issue with white decks. There’s a chance the cello machine Cartamundi used to wrap the white decks leaving some minor residue. Possible due to the larger size of the deck/weight of the metal plate. Impossible to predict. If anyone has opened the deck does the smudge come off with gentle rubbing? I know it’s not a major issue but I’m sorry for folks who have that.

Tried out rubbing and even scratching with fingernail on the smudges of my opened deck. Doesn't seem to work. Also tried rubbing with a bit of moisture to very minimal (if any) change

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
Hello. I received Successor. It's absolutely amazing and I'm extremely happy.
But I have a favor to ask.
My Sarcophagus in #110. The Prism and Dynastinae decks inside are also #110. But the white and black numbers don't match. My white is #570 and the 2nd is #1130. Black is #1429.
If anyone has the white or black #110, I'd love to trade with you.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
I'm so bummed about the non-matching sets. I was so upset when I got the email from Deallez saying that practically none of the sets in Germany matched the certificates. Gambler's followed suit shortly after with a similar message. It was perhaps too ambitious with so many editions and two fulfillment centers. I think only a very small fraction, probably less than 15 percent, of the Sarcos have matching numbers. Might even be less than that to be honest, as I don't have any reports. The most troubling truth is that several of the numbered Green, Black and White decks (that correspond to those sets) are actually missing from BOTH Germany and Texas. For instance, Dynastinae 243 (as an example), may not be anywhere. Maybe QC rejected it, maybe it was placed on the sea freight shipment that has yet to arrive. The black decks also run the possibility of having been packed into the sealed mixed brick boxes--making further complicated. I do hope some folks find the matches they are looking for... consider it a personification of the hunt for the Successor.

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
My Dynastinae and Prism match. #152. The rest are incredibly random. I have a thing with numbers and I'm glad it's not a number I dislike, so I'm happy. I've been doing plenty of hunting, so I'll leave the number hunting to others, but I could see that being a fun kick for some.
Here are my numbers should you have a set that I have the Prism or Dynastinae for:
Prism #152 & #233
Dynastinae #152 & #280
White #988 & #1200
Black #1510
Very well executed production, Omar. I have to say, the KS exclusive tucks look phenomenal in the light. Any chance we'll see uncut tucks of those? I bought every single item available this campaign minus prototypes which were out of my control, but if there is a KS uncut tuck, I'd love to buy one.
GW had put the decks in the triptych incorrectly. Boy was that a challenge to remove the decks without damaging them. Glad I got them out!

Reading this is like a shot of adrenaline to the creative soul. Thank you. I promise that nothing was/is more important to me than reputation and customer satisfaction.
I do have some. Send me a PM and we will discuss it!
So sorry about that! Yes, the fit is tight. Cartamundi's cello was a bit looser than anticipated. Still I'm glad you sorted it out. I know they had to pack a gazillion of those---alright well maybe not that many... dozens at least! So one was bound to slip the cracks.

Minor smudges and non-matching numbers on the sets. So everything is quite well, really.

I would guess it was one to preserve graphical symmetry. There are 7 characters on the left but 8 on the right. Doing the double L in a single space keeps the text box the same size on both sides.

I believe redux was essentially trying to say "If that's all that is wrong with this campaign, then it was a success." At least that's how I interpreted it.TheGentlemanWake wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 11:27 pmThis kind of post has the opposite effect on my morale. Neither of those two things were in my power to avoid.

Ok, I guess these things really are a serious thing for some. My apologies. I didn't mean this in hurtful way. It's just that I'm just happy with the decks no matter the mismatching numbers etc.TheGentlemanWake wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 11:27 pmThis kind of post has the opposite effect on my morale. Been waiting patiently for this. The Successor Sarcophagus has arrived. Luxurious piano lacquer box with the metal lid. That lid is HEAVY. Love it.

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
I'd also like to second redux's comment about being happy with the decks regardless of minor flaws. I hope TGW didn't take my earlier comment the wrong way, as I haven't been able to put my monarch whites down since I got them earlier this week.
I don't have much to add in the way of praise as just about everyone here already knows that the decks are visually astounding so I'll just give my 2 cents on TGW's customer service experience: right after making my comment pointing out the smudges on the tuckbox, Omar reached out to me via PM to arrange an exchange for a new deck which he definitely didn't have to do.
His audience engagement here on UC and in his discord server (where he answers just about any question about his projects) is top notch devotion to customer satisfaction. Bravo for taking care of your customers

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
Well I bet half of them are me! Lol
But yes this has been extremely gratifying and I’m proud and humbled at the same time by all the great reactions to this. There’s no hiding the fact I was swinging for the fences on this one.
Also let me not for one second diminish the Amazing design by Kevin. I gained a business partner and more importantly a friend in Kevin the moment we began working together. And to think one of my first deck reviews was for the citizens deck—one of my all time faves—and I gushed awkwardly over the design. Seems like a lifetime ago. Definitely like 35 lbs ago. Lol.

I'd say he was aiming for the movie reference:
Which - if he did - is proof of an exellent taste in movies, I might add.

Since packages are starting to get delivered I just wanted to mention if anyone is thinking of selling or trading your prototype decks let me know. I am fascinated with the different color variations and have taken up a quest to get a few for my display case. With only 31 made it is a challenge I look forward to, but any and all help is appreciated. I can't forgive myself for missing out on the wounded corner one.

Re: The Successor by TGW/Kevin Cantrell
First, let me say that these decks are fantastic. Great design, great illustrations, great tucks, great execution all the way around.
I say this despite also experiencing a slight denting noticeable in the gilding of the white deck. This does not diminish the deck for me. It's just a "...well, that's interesting" moment.
Oh, and some very mild scuffage in the black gilding (gilding? edge printing?) of the exclusive deck that I opened. I mention these minor issues as a: Hey! Lookie here! This entire project had so many moving parts and these teeny, tiny issues are the only imperfections that caught my eye! (And I looove looking over every detail of these decks.)
I still wish I could get my hands on a Prism without buying the whole sarcophagus, because SMURF, that looks nice. Thanks for posting the photos, Kevork!
If any of y'all are looking for numbers to complete a matching set, I'll note that I have the following (one of each style is opened):
Black decks: #842, 912 (opened), 913, 977.
White decks: 802, 826 (opened)
Dynastinaynay: 228 (opened), 229
I opened one of every variety. In general, I favored the foiled over the metallic gold-printed decks (although the red and the blue decks were still lovely and the tuck boxes still delicious), and I also favored the three gilded / edge printed decks over the one non-gilded / edge printed deck. As much as I resisted the idea of paying extra for the metal plate welded to the white deck's tuck... that is some truly amazing relief there, and I am wondering now if I might want to put it on display for a while amongst my other arty display things.
Every single tuck in the set has something to admire about it, both design-wise and execution-wise. The decks are not only pretty as smurf, but they are also imminently playable. I suspect that one of my gilded, foiled decks will be introduced into the regular rotation shortly.
Anyway, I believe I may have mentioned that I'd planned to sit this one out, but I'm very glad I didn't. This is a wonderful, luxury suite of decks.
