Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Lotrek sent out a very detailed email yesterday. Pretty much Year 1 Patron's rewards are almost ready. The players version of Golden Rule will be available April 26th, etc.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I wanted to give a quick update on my ongoing saga with Patreon. After a very long wait, they responded to me by saying that there was not a glitch in their system that added funds into the “choose what you pay” field when changing currencies, and that I must have done so on my own. The thing is, there absolutely is a glitch that does just what I claimed, and it is repeatable. So, I sent them a screen recording of the glitch adding funds to my pledge without my consent, and followed up with several emails. (As an aside, I also discovered that this glitch alters the listed price of the tier in the confirmation page after checkout, making it even harder to see that you are being overcharged) They have stopped responding to me again. Not only have I provided them with proof of a glitch that repeatedly overcharged me, I alerted them to a flaw in their programming that could be costing them significant amounts of money should others be experiencing the same issue that I have. They should be thanking me, but instead they ghosted me. I get the feeling that they are scared of being liable should they acknowledge the issue in writing. I am so pissed at them right now. Their customer service is absolute dog crap, and they have no interest in doing right by their customers. I wish there was a better way to support Lotrek. I am planning to submit a complaint with the FTC if I do not hear back in the next two days.
Is there anyone else here who has experienced this glitch that adds funds to your pledge into the “choose what you pay” field that is by default not visible upon checkout?

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
This is def helpful information. I would take this to the Reddit community and see if others have had similar issues. I’m sure most don’t even know the conversion rate issue and are paying more.
Probably get a lot more eyes on it there and maybe you’ll actually see something happen when someone that has the political power and means to make a difference.
Sounds like you’re 1 of 1 right now and they just want to continue blowing you off. Good on you to stay on them.
Good luck

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
How did you recreate the glitch? I'd like to try and recreate it because when I adjusted my pledge amount after the initial issue came to light, I've been charged the correct amount since.
On a side note, public and Patreon release of Golden Rule players edition will be tomorrow, April 26th. A nice birthday present for me
I won't specify time here as Lotrek hasn't announced it publicly yet.

Yeah! Super excited for The Golden Rule! It looks so nice!!!!kevork wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 5:36 pm How did you recreate the glitch? I'd like to try and recreate it because when I adjusted my pledge amount after the initial issue came to light, I've been charged the correct amount since.

To be perfectly clear, this glitch is an entirely separate issue from the fact that they do not automatically change pledges to reflect the current price book exchange rate. So, if your issue was fixed by reselecting your tier, it likely wasn't an issue for you. I will say that the way the glitch initially affected my pledge was that when I reselected my tier to take advantage of the new lower book price, it automatically added the difference between the new price and the old price into the "choose what you pay" field, which effectively kept the cost the same. The "choose what you pay" field is hidden by default in the checkout screen, so I had no idea that the system was adding anything to my pledge. The only way i could tell something was up was to look at the tax that I was charged because anything that is entered into the "pay what you want" field is considered a donation and is not taxable.
So, I just went to take some screen shots to show you how to recreate the glitch, and it turns out that they have just updated the price book over the last couple of days so that the Golden Tier is now $43.50 USD instead of the $39.50 USD that I am paying. This means that in order to show you new screen shots of the glitch, I might have to commit to paying the new amount, which I am not about to do. I could show you the video I sent them that I made last week before the price book changed, but it has my address and partial credit card # in it, so I won't be doing that here. I'll just try to describe how it works, and rely on a few old pictures I took a while back when trying to describe the glitch to Patreon:
Go to the mobile or desktop site, click on Settings>Memberships>"view details" for Oath PCC. Click "Edit", then on the right hand side where it says currency, click "change," then select Euros. On the next screen it will have automatically added an amount into the "pay what you want" field; in my case it was €4.50. You can see in the screenshot that the tier is €38, but they are charging €42.50. If you click on the "pay what you want" drop down on the checkout screen, it will instantly default beck to the proper tier amount, but still show the higher credit amount. If you click on change currency link again and switch back to dollars without hitting update, it will default back to the right price. But, If you click "update" without hitting the "pay what you want" dropdown after switching to Euros, it will charge you the additional amount that it automatically added to your pledge. In my case, I clicked on "update" without realizing what had happened. I noticed the cost seemed high right away before being billed, so I decided to switch back to dollars using the same procedure. When I switched back to dollars and hit update, the glitch compounded upon itself and charged me $54, for what was supposed to be a $39.50 pledge. I didn't know what was happening or how to fix it at that point, so I reached out to support for help. I was billed that amount even though i had reached out for help before the billing cycle even occurred, and they still refuse to refund me a dime.

They were very helpful when I dealt with them on the issue - they sent a bucket of sand to me overnight and suggested I pound it. I’m still pounding, pretty sure I’m nearly at the refund point…

I am not sure if this was previously mentioned but apparently a new Blue Damask will be coming out this year.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
Keep in mind that Lotrek divides stock for his players releases for patons and public release.
Patreon stock remaining: 134
Public stock remaining: 258
I ended up getting 4 of these. I had misread that it was 5pm eastern time and was going to wait until 2pm here. Looks like I was still alright, thank goodness.
He had mentioned a Damask 2.0 with a redesign briefly in a posting. No idea yet if it will be a full foiled version for Patreon Year 3, different coloration, players, etc. Did he mention it would specifically be a new blue Damask?

Since the cat is out of the bag in the public sphere already, I'll quote his patreon update on January 1st:
Lotrek wrote:2023 will see the revival of DAMASK, the deck that we get the most requrest to reprint. We won't reprint of course but we will print a 2.0 version keeping the name and changing (almost) everything else.

Apologies if this was mentioned, but will the player's edition be in any of the Patreon packages?

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
There hasn't been any indication of what Year 3 Patreon rewards will be. Year 2 will be getting the full foiled version of Golden Rule. The players edition appears to not be tied to any patreon packages.
These do tend to show up at Wounded Corner. How's shipping from them usually?

Throw me your city and zip code, or full address if you're comfortable in a PM and I'll see how much it would cost to ship a deck to you. I'm in Los Angeles, and Steve is in California too, but maybe PirateShip might give a better deal.
