You mis-capitalized the "i" in "Wild".

I'll definitely be in, as usual.

Backed it without hesitation - have to stay on the line and to keep the series without holes
Backer #44

Also, am surprised that the KS variants back design is simply turning the Standard Back Design into gold and have it foiled. Too bad, the Black Gilded Edition for this volume won't have gold border like the Vol.1

Yeah, the foiling he added ( as an upgrade because it was delayed) to the card front and backs on the standard gilded edition of Fellowship looked incredible. I was hoping there'd be a version of that for Two Towers. Oh well.

There is, it's the foiled edition. It has foiling on the front and the back of the cards. If you look at the comparison image on KS page it explains this.

Oh, I know about that version, it's part of my pledge. I'm referring to the standard gilded edition that you added foil to for Fellowship. The foil with the full color back looks incredible. The back design for the foil edition also looks great, don't get me wrong, but the colored back of the standard edition with added foil took it up an extra notch IMO.

And to add up Adamthinks: to have it consistent with the Vol.1 Gilded (black tuck)

Also, I noticed that four suits represent four elements, and to my surprise, the Spades is Fire while Diamonds is Wind - contradicts with ancient suits

Coming from a person who is new to the card designer / Kickstarter community, it is quite amazing to see the numbers just piling up as it should. KWP JR great inspiration 👍 if only they do apprenticeship 😂

You know, Jackson has mentioned in the past that he would like to eventually have more artists working for him (such as June) designing decks that he art directs. So, this might not be out of the question....
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

FYI for anyone with add-ons
We noticed the shipping error on our add-ons. We apologize for that. We have adjusted the add-ons with new, lower add-on shipping costs. If you go and edit your pledge, you can remove your previous add-ons and switch to the new, corrected ones. You will see photos of the items and the word "CORRECTED" in the title. So sorry for the confusion and the inconvenience!

Thanks for your support!

Same, although I also added 2 of the "Kickstarter exclusive exclusive" from the add-ons. This was the deck released to backers of the first campaign who spent $410+. It's foiled on both sides.

I skipped the legacies on both campaigns as these are not like the old legacies and $200 feels ridiculous for what is being offered. Unlimited number dependent on backers, no numbering. They made about 700 for the first one. Compare to most recent legacy, Arthurian, x/75. $100. I understand that this campaign is aimed for more than just playing card collectors though.

Is the "Exclusive Exclusive" edition gilded? I had thought it was but the price as an add on is $30 here whereas the exclusive gilded was $40 during the Fellowship campaign.

Is my interpretation below of the decks in the two campaigns correct?

FotR

Standard Edition (non-foiled)
Gilded Edition (non-foiled)
KS Exclusive Edition (foiled)
Gilded KS Exclusive Edition (foiled)
Legacy Edition
KS Exclusive Exclusive Edition (limited to those who spent over $410, now being offered in the TT campaign)

TT

Standard Edition (non-foiled)
Gilded Edition (non-foiled)
Foiled Edition (called KS Exclusive Edition in FotR)
Foiled Gilded (called Gilded KS Exclusive Edition in FotR)
Legacy Edition

At this point no TT KS Exclusive Exclusive Edition?

In case anyone else was confused, I got the answer from the discord. The "exclusive exclusive" edition is non-gilded.

Campaign successfully funded

FotR: 8,259 backers and $657,609 = $79.62 avg. per backer
TT: 4,613 backers $430,828 = $93.39 avg. per backer

So there were much less people backing this project for unknown reasons. I wonder what factors come into play as this was one of those campaigns that reaches far beyond the playing card community.

I was watching by the sidelines the whole time during both campaigns and my belief on why TT underperformed the 1st campaign is because the market/economy is rough. I am shocked how low some decks are selling for these days on the secondary market. I think no matter how incredible a project might be these days there just isn't the same fan base as there was during the pandemic. Those 2 years had some crazy numbers when it came to playing card releases. It could also be an oversaturated market but I'm leaning more towards economy as the main issue. The business I work for has been around for over 110 years and they haven't seen things this slow in forever.

During the first campaign the economy was still bolstered and in a state of denial. A month later the market crashed and reality set in. I know this because my campaign for Successor launch just after FoTR closed and it jumped out to $285k before closing at $249k. We lost 37k over the last two weeks of the campaign. It was heartbreaking. So yeah, I think the economy still hasn't recovered. Still 430k is a massive success. Kudos to KWP.

KS wrote:Hello everyone! Here is a quick production update on The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers playing card project. I'm incredibly excited that we are way ahead of schedule and will deliver most of the rewards months ahead of the original estimated delivery date of November 2023. We have all elements and rewards finished AND in-house except for a few things. Below is a bullet-point list of what we have and are still waiting on.

Playing Card Decks

Non-Foiled Standard Edition - Finished Ready to Ship
Non-Foiled Gilded Edition - Finished Ready to Ship
Foiled Standard Edition - Finished Ready to Ship
Foiled Gilded Edition - Finished Ready to Ship
Legacy Edition - All elements received and in-house, in-house production in progress.

Jig Saw Puzzles

The Fellowship of the Ring Jig Saw Puzzle - Production complete, waiting for delivery
The Two Towers Jig Saw Puzzle - Production complete, waiting for delivery

Puzzles Expected delivery to Kings Wild HQ - June 28th.

Other Add Ons

Uncut Sheets - In production
Helms Deep T-Shirt - In production
Gates of Moria T-Shirt - In production

Because we have all the playing cards in-house, if you are a backer who pledged for ONLY playing cards and no other add-ons, we will begin fulfilling them within the next week. If you are one of these backers, please also be on the lookout for an email from Backerkit to “lockdown” your shipping address. If you have already supplied us with your shipping address and are not moving or need to change your address, then there is nothing you need to do. After 48 hours, your address will be locked, and we will begin fulfillment.

If you are a backer that pledged for other items like puzzles or shirts (or anything besides decks), we will begin the fulfillment of your rewards as soon as we receive all of the items. Either way, it is looking 99% sure that we will fulfill your rewards much earlier than the original estimated delivery date of November 2023, as noted in your pledge tier.
