Re: Ragnarok Playing Cards Remastered
I guess this might be the start of some remakes. Great for new collectors to get the decks for more reasonable prices than in their online store.

Re: Ragnarok Playing Cards Remastered
I have the 1st decks but this deck just blow them away. It's more like Ragnarok V2, considering how different it looks. For me it's a good trend with designers revisiting their popular decks and upgrading it with the latest tech, like JR's LT or Lorenzo's Requiem.
Or in this case, with their experience as card designers. Gio's Good deck is a great example. I got the prototype and I could see why he never released it. It was just meh compared to the Evil deck. But when he finally released it a few years back, it was so much better as you could see his growth from a novice (Evil deck was his first deck) to the pro he is now.

I have the original decks, but just not interested in the remastered decks. I wish them well though.

I do enjoy the one-way art of this version, but the tucks do not compare with the originals.

Fully agree about the tucks but I appreciate the revised art. I will be in for a single set.

Re: Ragnarok Playing Cards Remastered
I like them, though not sure I’m a fan of the frame on the faces
With a small fortune spent this month on cards and a collection already decimating my homes square footage I am going to have to pass for the moment - we will see if I last the length of the campaign or just WTF it and get a pair…

Re: Ragnarok Playing Cards Remastered
I don't have the originals so in for a pair. I'm so tempted to add on those huge medals (Thor one). Good thing is that the face cards are different in both the editions. On a side note, has anyone got the booklet from Nicolai's campaign or Design Imperator? Does the artwork look even better in the booklet?

Re: Ragnarok Playing Cards Remastered
Yes, I got the Ragnarok original booklets. If you love his artwork, the booklets really make it shine in a bigger format. Other works don't quite justify booklets, but his Norse series do. It's some of his best work IMHO, so the booklet will be worth it.GandalfTheWhite wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 10:03 pm I don't have the originals so in for a pair. From the KS page, Nicolai has stated the 2 decks have different courts. 1 decks have the Aesir and 1 deck with the giants.
The face cards are completely unique in the 2 editions of Ragnarok Remastered. Even those who were lucky enough to get our original Ragnarok decks from 2018 will quickly notice that not only is this a heavily expanded arsenal of iconic deities from the mythology but also that the art has had a complete overhaul. With 2 unique editions, one representing The Aesir and one reprensting the Jötnar, we are able to introduce a new cast of valkyries, draugr and giants to the battle. All illustrated by hand in a washed out color scheme, inspired by the time periods of old mural history. All characters are presented with futhark runes in their danish form for the sake of authenticity.
