Ukiyo-e by Arcadia

Coming sometime in 2023...

To be honest, after my last project, the Windmill Back, I was considering retiring from designing playing cards because I was just a bit tired of it...
BUT, that thought only lasted a couple of days until I had a new idea for a deck.
So now I am working on my most complicated, most flashy and most fun deck to make yet.
This deck is based on old Japanese woodblock prints, something I've been discovering and admiring for this last year. 🇯🇵
It will also be the first Arcadia deck using cold foil on both, backs and faces (if you're not counting the Visions deck).

Good to hear he didn't give up. This is definitely more interesting for me as a collector, though I did back his Windmill.

This tease has me very interested, but I have to say I hope there is a "blingless" option, and not even because of budget but because of subject matter. Modern foil and Ukiyo-e don't really go together imho.

these look great. make a ''blingless'' option if you must but i will take all of the foil. except gilding. not worth it for the price increase imo.

Funny thing is that gilding would be the only appropriate addition to a deck with this theme as they had that back in the time of wood cut prints while they definitely didn't have foiled cards
A deck a day helps keep the addiction at bay!

true but i am looking for a great looking design and nice looking features not historical accuracy. i guess if we used this as a standard Lotrek would be out of business.
