Pred was a favorite of mine as well, not many people had the fanning skills he had. He applied the perfect ratio of fanning powder to keep his fan displays and spins together while still preserving a good amount of slip. You have to admire the precision and even spacing of his fans, as technical and intricate as some of h is displays were. Whenever a deck designer asks "what's the big deal about finishes?", I want to show them one of Pred's vids and tell them you can't do moves like this with a deck that handles like shit.

As far as the Virt's Pi deck, I was sorely disappointed by the courts. But I have to say that they do look pretty great in flourishing routines. It's nice to be able to utilize both sides of the cards in cardistry videos, or at least not to have to worry about featuring a particular side of a deck in certain sequences. Having said this, I still can't bring myself to buy this deck. Just like I won't buy an "art" deck that looks beautiful but handles like shit, I can't buy a cardistry deck that handles like butter and looks great for cardistry, but the court and spot cards are so ugly or impractical for regular usage like playing poker.

Yet another ground breaking design from the virts... At this point I dunno if Huron is trolling in his marketing emails or if he actually believes all the hype and split toungue language he uses in those mails?

"It’s NOT a P1 deck… though it does have elements inspired from it. It IS something that many of you have been asking us for over the last few years"

That's the only reason I'm subscribed to their email list 😃.

So who's the better hype marketing merchant? E, Virts, T11, AoP, Fulton, or someone else I overlooked?

Bdwag923, Gavin will strongly disagree with you. Nothing is shit when it's in green! :D

Ellusionist : Well I have no idea, since… after Jurassic Park, nothing great custom decks coming from them except a few ones, like the E deck
Virts : It’s the sea of words that composed by Huron that attracts people XD
AoP : Usually advertising a few very special deck as “you can only get them in Mystery Packs”, then after a few months to almost never, they appear in BLCK Market
Fulton : A totally self-centered “OG Designer” who keeps appearing on camera and goes: “Hi, I designed playing cards, this is what I just designed” with a few of them are basically: questionable copyright infringements
GandalfPC wrote: Sun Dec 04, 2022 8:55 pm Virts / Fulton / Fontaine - in no particular order
To rank it up…. From worst offenders from the top:
Fontaine : because we know why XD now counting 100 decks in a span of 9 years
Fulton : because… of those two questionable decks that marked as: special designs - with the 52$ “AP” and “Special” edition of just only signed/tuckbox change
Virts : Color change… at least its not as frequent as “you know what”. But now, after seeing the latest one… I am disappointed. At this rate, the selling point is through sea of poetic words and lack of innovation

Huh, so they actually tweaked the backs. Their new series, Moments, has 2 differently colored backs!

This is their Open Courts series. Man, this horse may still have a bit of life yet! :D
