Vitrum LED Metal Deck by Purely Idea

Interesting project, for sure. The court and back designs leave a lot to be desired but it's obvious that the focus of their project is the powered LED metal tuck box.

Backers can get one deck with the metal tuck for $75 USD, shipped with no dock. Or, backers can get both designs with the dock and a collector's box for $175, shipped.

isnt there an issue with Mosaic being used by Elephant Cards?

In US copyright law, you can't copyright a title. (A trademark is another matter, but I don't think either company has or even can trademark the word Mosaic, given that it has already been used as the name for several decks even prior to Elephant's.)

Please note that I am not a lawyer, nothing I write here should be construed as legal advice, and it's entirely possible that I'm completely wrong about the "you can't copyright titles" rule as it applies to playing cards. Your mileage may vary.

In this case, I don't think so.

It appears my team reached out to these project creators with our standard IP notice because the name matched without consulting me. Once I found out I got in touch with purelyidea and confirmed the name was fine, no issue from me.

IP matters are tricky, and a TM is not always necessary to lodge, nor sufficient to defend a claim (as we have found out to great expense). And it almost always pays to defend your IP (as we have found multiple time to much greater expense...).

In short, looks like my team acted to hastily and without approval here. No IP issue from me and Purelyidea are welcome to contact me any time (which I have let them know).

It's called Vitrum now

The deck is now called with Vitrum instead of Mosaic. Pretty much all changes has been made throughout the Christmas and Newyear, except the videos are still in-shoot and will take sometime to be processed

I got my Vitrum deck set, but I must say I am really dissapointed on how it got shipped to me - in a bubble mailer, while it is wrapped with bubble wrap, it doesn't stand a chance of getting badly dinged on one corner. I heard others got their Vitrum shipped in boxes, so why I don't have that box shipping?

Plus point for the Pre-Sale Vitrum Deck in the package, but still, this is the second time I backed Purely Idea project and got the initial rewards in a bad shape. Definitely won't back any future project again.

I try to contact Purely Idea regarding of my dinged storage box - let's hope there should be any form of compensation to it. Just strange that the shipping method had inconsistencies: some are shipped with loose bag, while others got shipped in a box...

The Pre-Sale Vitrum just showed up in my package, not sure IF I would open it haha - said to be printed by Legends

I received mine 2 days ago, it did not come with a pre-sale deck. I probably ordered late.
Looking back I forgot what motivated me to back this. I think they made a good sales pitch and I must have thought I needed a night light for my desk.

Got mine today I'm not sure why I was expecting the whole thing to me solid metal, it's just a thin metal faceplate over the plastic housing - still a neat-looking deck though The dock could certainly be better - it's designed for two decks... to face away from each other?? And the LEDs in the case are powered by very simple metal-to-metal connections, it must be a very low voltage (I hope! ) Sort of frustrating too because the cable is built into the dock and it's like a foot long And there is indeed an NFC chip in the case too! Overall A+ concept, B+ execution (I know it would probably cost at least double to do this "right")

That is the only bad points for the decks: the dock where to display and lit up the decks are just not having a long cable. So you either place an extension near on your table OR you use an extension cable for it.
And yeah the chip works - though it took quite a time for the scanner to pick up the signal from the chip.

Ah darn…. Mine is bubblewrapped, yet it got rekt during delivery, as mine is sent in a bag instead of a box……

I’ve sent the damages photos to them and no response…. Guess I know what creator to avoid in the future
