I've been gathering a lot of feedback from people and I think what is sounding like might work for those that have gotten them and those that didn't would be:
- Keeping the same designs rather than a new edition, but making it an unnumbered version. Same pricing.
- Making it preorder for 24 hours (I don't think I see this as a limitation given how everyone was requesting it as a way to make it easier for them).
- As a preorder you can choose from the designs.

You wanna do something innovative in the card community?
Yes, but through NPCCD. For this series no, I wanted to make something emotional for the card community. I don't think I ever said this specific series was going to be a deck around innovation and I'm not sure where that idea got started. I tried to be clear that it was going to be a deck that was less about the convention of cards and more as an art piece designed to evoke emotion. I apologize if I was not clear.

It's still a be there or be fucked situation. What if you don't have the funds that day? Sounds like shit to me. I get that I'm in a minority in here but I love to see a product and then take my time to make a purchase descision. Not having this pretentious "be part of an experience" bullshit.
I guess this is why my focus has shifted towards other hobbies. I still like cards a lot but you have to be part of patreons, inner circles, subscriptions and whatnot for certain decks. Cool with me as I don't bother and give my funds to companies having products available for purchase, with reviews and product pictures and an availability weeks, months if not years after initial release - good stuff. Seems like Alex and other designers are doing very good without my money - so win-win I guess.
I think the bots still played a significant role in the 1220 drop. It took me just seconds to complete my order and it was still too slow. Maybe I need to look into using a bot. Not to abuse but for speed. Do people use bots even for legitimate purchases?

Err... the question was rhetorical and has to be seen in the context with the sentence that followed in that post.
In regards to this years NPCCD... Crypt was a while ago so no innovation there.
Well, I'm wondering if a 24 hour window is provided well in advance, so people can save up for it. With such an experimental release, I could see why the conventional approach of release, for example Lorenzo's Halloween deck, is not possible because it's hard to gauge audience engagement. The other alternative I suppose is doing a Kickstarter and if it doesn't fund, then you have your answer.
I don't think keeping the release blind was the innovation for NPCCD. We have yet to see the innovation.

Late to the party, but my 2 cents on this would be that having a unique tuck-box design for the un-numbered print run would be preferable. I think having the same tuck designs for the un-numbered decks would put those who got one of the numbered decks in a dilemma. On one hand, it would be tempting to order one of the un-numbered decks to guarantee getting the tuck variant I want, but on the other hand that would incur the risk of having duplicate tuck variants between my un-numbered and numbered versions. I can see how this might be a plus for others, but at least for me I try to avoid owning duplicates. Not sure if others feel the same way.
So I guess TLDR: if its not too much work, would it be feasible to have a unique tuck variation for the second run of un-numbered decks? I assume that (hopefully) most people would be fine with the second print run just having one tuck design.
Is there a purplish tuck version? I kinda liked that one when I saw the pics. Might get 1 unnumbered if it ever comes to that hopefully, but why same price as the numbered though?
Yes. 24 hr window pre-orders at the minimum . Don't forget those of us who live on the other side of the world where 12pm equals past midnight.
That's what I really liked about the 2022 NPCCD with the 72 hr pre-order window. (the 'buy the whole 2022 set to get the 2021 deck, not so much'. But hey, everyone's got their own preference of doing business.)
i will chime in here as long as the subject has kind of turned towards release or sales methods.
i have been very outspoken in the past on what i think of limited editions and artificial rarity. TLDR artificial rarity is bullshit. personally, i do not care about the number on my deck nor do i care if 51 other people have the deck or 51,000. i guess it works well enough or designers, manufactures, etc would have stopped doing it and pissing off their customers. the only people this helps is the scalpers. anyway, a 24hr preorder window is a better option. i feel like 72 hours or even a week would be fine. this way pretty much everyone has a chance to get what they want and as many as they want.
for what it is worth, i also feel the whole mystery deck thing is not for me. if i dont know what i am spending my money on i am not buying, generally no matter who is designing it. at a minimum i would need to see the tuck, the back and at least one court to see the style.
at least none of you were fighting me to get any of these decks.
I was on the fence with these, and did not really have the time to decide if I wanted one. The bots made that decision for me. Am I mistaken, or didn't the same thing happen for the UNBROKEN decks and Alex said he was going to do unnumbered versions of them too?
I haven't slept for ten days, because that would be too long.
I find the 'Please no more requests after this' abit amusing haha. It's like he's tired of putting up with our nonsense. Also but........is it the same price of 65?

Yup, same price of $65. He wanted to appease the high demand while also minimizing bitterness from those who were able to get decks from the original release. Seeing as those individuals would get a rare numbered version, I don't see why they would be upset, but oh well, here we are.
Something similar which 52+J did with their 2021 Club deck with an unnumbered seal. Don't think anyone's going to be crying about this.
You're have to be a serious collector to get a $65 deck that's not really usable for games. Either that or a serious speculator who caters to such collectors.
Seldom do you see deck producers cater to their customer base like this. Bravo, Alex! You obviously can't please everyone but in my opinion, this goes a long way to pleasing most.
I took a look. Only one image of the card fronts and it's hard to make them out but from what I see, it's not my thing. Definitely not my thing for $315 + shipping for a set of 5. Pass for me.

I just checked out the sale. It is just too much for me at the time unless I knew exactly what I was dealing with and could make a rational argument to my banker. I hope the sale goes well and those that get it are glad to add it to their collection. However, for me it is time to call it quits and allow my account to recharge.
The Crazy Squirrel Deck Hunter - Hunt decks to extinction
It's unfortunate the blue pips and indices on the black half of the cards was changed from blue to red. That icy stagnant limbo aspect added to the message.
I really liked the black of the Grief deck in the original but now the deck color was changed too, so I'm a bit mixed. Unless that's a lighting thing with the photos. I was under the impression V2 would just remove the numbering and added "Dante's Redux Edition" to it, but it looks like more was altered.
I'm quite conflicted now on what to do, whether I buy one deck or none at all.
I am in for a Grief deck and a Detachment deck. Since the cards are the same and only the tuck changes across the decks, I just picked out the two tucks I liked the most.
Well, if Cardistry Touch has Offset, why not Seasons have Limbo? But still, 65$ a deck is like a big stab on the wallet, espcially with the shipping rates for my side - freaking 20$
