If I understood Alex correctly, he will print as many decks as needed for the pre-orders made. That said, he will print at least 700 sets. So, if he has pre-orders for 500 sets, then he will have 200 extra sets available for sale later. There is a bit of a discount if you commit in the first 24 hours. I seem to recall this is similar to what he has done in prior years.
I am in for a full set, but I didn't order extras this year to open...yet. I might still break down on that part.

Is it more or less likely that 700~ decks will be produced? Cause I'm hoping to get a glimpse of the decks before committing beforehand. I'm fairly new to collecting and not sure if the Unbroken decks were blind orders like this round, but if they were, it would definitely compel me to get a set. Also I read in the description that every set will be different too like the Unbroken series? Anybody could help a fellow out with these queries? Thanks in advance.
The decks in the collection are different. Every set will be the same but numbered. Sorry if I misconstrued the description. Where did you read that had you think along those lines?
Limbo is a bit more along the Unbroken series. NPCCD will be consistent in appearance for everyone in the same format as previous years.
These decks represent how we see the art of card collection - beautifully unique
The word unique kinda gave me those vibes. Like maybe slight tuck differences or like each set would have different gilding or something that's unique to each set. But it couldn't be because there are wayyy too many decks being printed especially since orders are open for 3 days.
This comment has been mod-approved since you are able to see it.
Looking to buy (DM me if selling please!):
-Limbo v1 decks
-2017 NPCCD Bronze, Silver, Emerald
-2018 NPCCD Green Pawn & Missing Island decks
-Original Apothecary Prototype

Honestly a pretty smart way to do what is effectively a 3-day Kickstarter, minus the fees as he does it on his own site.

I have an off-topic question. Does anybody know to what is Alex reffering with the Limbo project? Is that another deck/project?

How I understood this was it would be a random selection from the 5 decks, depending on the assortment you ordered (gilded/un-gilded).
Yeah that was my intention but I went ahead and fixed language so it wouldn't confuse and set incorrect expectations.
What I realized is that doing a blind release is a real tight rope walk of setting expectations low so you can give them a nice surprise, but high enough so you can make sure there's an actual sale lol.
This time I finally got the guts to just F-it and go for a set. I am curious on how the 2021 NPCCD looked like.
Kinda get that scary feeling of the unknown - no artworks showed, everything in the dark, it's just a matter of fully rusted Alex Chin [does this remind you all about Jaspas's Favourite Day deck?]
i seem to be in the super minority here. while the last few NPCCD sets have had innovative or unique tuck features, the designs have been only ok to me. definitely not enough to justify the asking price regardless of (artificial) rarity. couple that with my general dislike of mystery decks this is an easy pass. alex is wonderful for and to the community and i rather enjoyed his seasons decks and his hand in bringing us the odd fellows.

Totally agree with the sentiment. I buy the deck to support P52 more than to acquire a great deck. Even though P52 could be much better, it is still a great tool that helps me manage my collection. If he starts asking $70 for a standard deck, I may need to resort to supporting him in other ways.
I did pay for shipping twice, though it was only $16 or so per order.
Regarding (artificial) rarity:
“ They’re kept at small runs not because of artificial limits, but because they are crafted by hand, choosing to side step the industrial world of automation in favor of a more authentic handmade piece of art for your collection. ”
As for design - that will be up to the individual to judge, but for me the 2019 and 2020 decks were every bit entitled to the description “works of art” and worth every penny I paid and more.

i hadn't thought of it this way. perhaps i should rethink getting a deck or 2 to support the p52 website and forums. thanks for the insight.
Money's tight right now so I'm in for a single deck - I really hope I can eventually get a 2021 deck, because the full set is waaaay out of my reach right now
Regardless I'm still excited to see what these turn out to be like

I do enjoy the arts in 2020 one. The works of Kristina Karol is amazing, and definitely the courts are all customized, and everyone is somehow related - to the Greek Myth. It is my biggest regret not getting a set, but at least having one of it should suffice
But, we still don't have any idea how this year's gotta looked like. Sticking to the theme, we will never know until it's time. Let's hope the courts are not Season's standards

Held out for 10 hours before picking up a second set - a new personal best.
Did you have to pay for shipping twice? Shipping costs are murderous for me right now living in Asia.
Which part? I'm in Malaysia myself. I personally had so many lost packages, I decided to use a US shipping agent service. I can consolidate shipping and pay just 1 time. It may not save much if you don't ship alot, but at least it almost guarantees no more lost packages.

There has got to be a better way to support P52 than pledge blind for NPCCD. I'm drawn a blank tho, suggestions?
I am only brave enough to bet one full set with the hope that they are at least trying to reach the 2020 series designs and not standard faces like previous series.
