I'm not a huge fan of shading on the faces (reminds me of decks like Sanctus when caught at a wrong angle in the light), but the design itself and that Antique deck, wow. They really speak to me. Nicely done!

The backs don't mesh with the rest, there's a disconnect as far as I'm concerned.

Antique edition looks quite okay for me. I have enough okay decks though.

These are BEAUTIFUL. But oh so pricey, especially for NPCC. I'm in for now but on the fence. $20 per deck is pushing it for me. But I really like this a lot.

the antique deck is really really nice! however...

you have to buy the whole set to get the antique deck.
the court face shading on the black and red decks is way too dark to the point that it is off putting.

with the campaign trying to force me to buy 3 decks instead of one i will likely buy none.

Going to have to go with STLBluesNut on this one - the antique deck is nice - closer look at the shading on the others and I dropped out

The OG's are FAR better, and this lack of honesty (or "transparency", if you want to be kind) from the KS campaign about the artwork borders on some Persian-Empire-Deck-level bullsh!t.

if they'd done a straight up reproduction I think I'd be much more likely to go in for these. It's also a little bemusing that they chose such obscure characters to highlight.

Fair enough. I guess I just have a different idea of what "inspired by" means. I think it would have been more clear if they'd actually showed some images of the original deck along side their new one, so we could see just how "inspired" they were. But maybe not quite on the same level as the Persian Empire.

excellent, thank you for the heads up. i still think the facial shading is too dark but being able to pledge for just the one i want has pushed me over the fence.

I just got these today ( along with two other Kickstarters) and the Antique deck turned out really well. Also, even though they were printed by NPCC, these actually handle pretty well out of the box. Really glad I backed this one.

That's awesome to hear. Do you think they've changed the varnish? Does it *smell* different? (if so, that would, indeed, indicate a change in their formula.)

Just waiting for enough people to back NPCC handling so I feel secure in getting future Aaroe and Larsen decks.

Seeing the original makes me wish they had stayed more true to it. I despised the way they shaded the faces, which is why I opted for only the antique version, but even that pales in comparison to the original.

The revised art style reminds me of the aesthetic of Lotrek's Byzantium series, while the poses and designs remind me of his Venexiana decks (which remain among my most favorite, ever.)

@WoPC, what are your thoughts about how these handle, compared with other NPCC decks as well as with other manufacturers' decks?
