Hi I'm Kenny, I've been making poker cards of one sort or another as a hobby for the last 6 or 7 years. Just something I started doing with my daughter that I never quit doing long after she forgot about it.
I've been lurking here off and on for a few years. I tried doing a Kickstarter some years ago, it didn't pan out, but I did find this forum at the time. Just one little thread here about my Kickstarter and it had some really honest good advice in there. After I had read it I was kind of hoping my Kickstarter would fail so that I wouldn't have to embarrass myself in front of the world...
So that's my story cards are just the hobby that will not die... Stuff happens I forgot about them for a while... Then I get bored or I get reinspired and do something different.
Figured I would just finally join and say "hi" since I don't have any friends that play with cards. I just work midnights paint cards and putter around on all of my other half completed projects.

Re: Hi I'm Kenney
Thanks for the warm welcome... Looking at everyone's collections, I'm a bit in awe.
I like to play with my cards... I destroy almost everything I touch.

Re: Hi I'm Kenney
That's the problem I have... I want to play with the cards, so when I buy a deck, I buy two decks, one for the collection, and one to play with. But... what if the deck I play with gets destroyed and I still want to play with it? Or, I want to give it away as a gift? Maybe I should get three. Yes, if I'm interested in a deck, I should get three of each. But! If I get four, that brings the price per deck down quite a bit, and then I can give one away without feeling like I'm too dangerously close to depriving my collection of that particular deck! Hmmm....
Welcome aboard, Kenney! I hope you'll join in the conversation!
PS: I hope you'll forgive me for being reminded of a South Park catch phrase.

Re: Hi I'm Kenney
Lol... It has been a long time since someone has bought me one of those shirts...
I'd like to say that my favorite cards are these expert playing cards. I have a bunch of zen in red and the penguin magic emperor decks... No matter how much I like them though they hurt my hands.
I'm getting old I have arthritis... Probably too old to be learning magic and card tricks... I had to buy some copag 310 because they were the only thing available while I was on a road trip. And they were so soft and easy to use I bought dozens when I got home. Maybe this week I'll take a picture of my cards but I bet I only have 10 or 12 decks that aren't in the garbage... Or just a red or blue copag 310.
My wife grabbed me some of these white honey bee cards. They're on the new copag 310 stock, it's so thin it's so easy for me to handle... Though I could swear they feel different depending on if they're facing me or not.
I feel guilty trying to buy a couple bricks of them while I still have a couple bricks of the true linen left. But I am safe, I actually haven't found bricks of the Slimline stock yet.
As far as join the conversation I'll try I'm not very good at that stuff. I guess I can make a post of the last deck I made or show pictures of the one I'm working on now...
I'll do my best, thank you for saying hi.
