P52 Overhaul / Revamp / Redesign
So... what's going on with the updated version of the website? The money from the 2019 NPCCD decks (and 2018 as well I think) was said to go towards re-doing and updating the site - and that would be awesome! There are a lot of things that could be done to take P52 up a level or two - a (mobile-friendly) redesign! Grouping and filtering by designer, printer, year, theme, color! Proper user profiles! It would also be very, very cool if the entire site were able to be downloaded and archived Aaaand lots of cleanup work too - there are duplicate decks (the whole duplicate system needs an overhaul), printers and designers need to be merged and given canonical names
I just want to see P52 become THE card database, open to all and with a wealth of info that can't be found elsewhere

Same here. I stopped using it and adding to it due to many of the deficiencies listed, as well as a snarky response from one of the power users when I was chatting with him over my issues/concerns.

Re: P52 Overhaul / Revamp / Redesign
I do have to admit that the issues I have with sorting my collection (much worse after hitting 1000 decks, but plenty of lesser issues before that) and the limited tools available for sorting (would be nice to move selected groups of decks rather than just single decks) along with the lack of ability to filter collections has been irksome to the point that I have considered creating a competing collection site, and I can’t imagine that I am the only person on earth thinking that.
As I have no real desire to compete with P52, and simply have a desire to have the most useful tool to handle my collection - perhaps offering my assistance in debugging/augmenting P52 is the appropriate course. Currently I’m pretty busy, but I wouldn’t mind squeezing some work in when I can, which should be a fair improvement over the current stagnation.
As for ability, I write and operate large scale distributed systems, have written accounting, pos, inventory systems, games, etc. 30+ years experience - at your disposal…

You flatter me, sir! But, I am very proud of what I've done as a self-taught amateur (hence the crappy page footer )hsbc wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 10:44 pm Check out Timmargh's stats page on his site for just a taste of what P52 could be like....

Re: P52 Overhaul / Revamp / Redesign
At this point I would be satisfied if they fixed the broken custom sorting (which for me has started to completely collapse seemingly at the 1000 deck mark) - now I’m at 1085 decks - trying to fix the order of any deck below a certain point just makes things scramble more.
--------
Just took a quick peek with inspector and found the following items of note:
0) general sorting:
a) upon sorting you get a reorder response which starts with:
"success":true,"new_weights":
followed by list of weights
this response comes back fine when sorting my shorter lists, but comes back along with an error 500 (internal server error) when dealing with my full list
sorting just a part of your list (not scrolling down to load more images) only passes reorder for the portion of the list you are viewing - thus working with just the top stuff does not include the same data as when you scroll down, as images load more items are passed for the reorder
1) Sorting my wishlist, which has under 400 items:
a) items weights are numbered from 1 (the last item) up to the number of decks
b) reorder works fine, reorder response (after scrolling to bottom of list) contains all items
2) Sorting my collection, which has over 1000 items:
a) item weights are numbered from -382 (negative) to +497 - this only adds up to 880 items
b) server error 500 comes along with it
