Re: The Eye Of The Ocean - Stockholm 17
Lorenzo posted an update this morning and included a picture of the final version of the Eye of the Ocean book. I don't think Lorenzo will mind me reposting the photo here for those that visit that are not Patreon members. I imagine it will be included in an Eye of the Ocean update soon enough. You can refer back to the original campaign to see how much the final version has improved (quite a lot actually).

The indentation on the leather is much more clearer than before! Oh man, this feels like we are acquiring an artifact from someone - by the looks of the final outlook of the bookBradius wrote: ↑Sun Jan 02, 2022 11:10 am Lorenzo posted an update this morning and included a picture of the final version of the Eye of the Ocean book. Good thing I am too, taking the book
I was at first discouraged by the price, but then, I just have to get it to read the story. Reading the extract of the first chapter is already taking me in - ther's a passage where it said how the playing cards are made.

Re: The Eye Of The Ocean - Stockholm 17
quick update from mobile about fulfillment while I am out of town.
EU+UK+Europe (from Germany)
Looks like that almost everything was shipped out and I saw many packages already arrived, especially in Germany.
...
US+CA+AU+Asia+Rest of the world
I spoke with them and they sheduled fulfillment after Easter [April 17]. They need to count and inspect all the cartons first. They should start in the middle of the next week.

A world's first!
I got decks before hsbc!
What a time to be alive! You get a gilded deck and it fans right out of the box and faros perfectly...
Much respect to Cartamundi and the gilder.
Huge thanks to Lorenzo for the project in general of course but also that he did choose a tasteful and fitting to the theme gilding for the Astra Polaris. Not some shabby Kindergarten prism or diffraction gilding.

I know, we shall keep it at cards but I gotta say that book is incredible, too. The Illustrations... leather pouch... the binding... all top notch.
The minis are WJPC, right? They're awesome as well. Very nice stock for a mini. Now I can't wait even more for my Gambling Frog to arrive to see literally first hand how they are currently at regular poker size.

I just hope we Antipodeans get our decks in time to participate in the puzzle. There was one... I think it mighta been Room17 where the puzzle was solved days before I even got the deck.

Re: The Eye Of The Ocean - Stockholm 17
To be fair, the puzzle for room17 was solved before everyone got their deck due to the pdf provided. But yah, Europeans sure have an advantage. I'd say Lorenzo cranked it up a notch though so that everyone would need a while to solve the quest. Maybe even has to read the book?
I can tell you that I'm not able to solve the quest anyways, because I'm in awe over the Astra Polaris and its handling ... One of those decks I could spend a day just shuffling it...

Re: The Eye Of The Ocean - Stockholm 17
My understanding is that the book will not help as Patrons have had the book for months already. In any event, I am stupid at completing such tasks, so even if I had month's head start, I would completely fail. The decks and stuff sure look nice. Can't wait to get my typical epic rewards. It is kind of funny as I have had the artwork of the decks for over a year with the Quartermaster deck and then the Intrepid deck. Still, I am sure to enjoy the other versions.

Tony and I solved it based on promotional photos alone but failed to crack the puzzles to unlock the page where you enter the main puzzle answer.portcullis wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 2:24 am I just hope we Antipodeans get our decks in time to participate in the puzzle. Re: The Eye Of The Ocean - Stockholm 17
I believe Timmarh was talking about S17 right? Lorenzo won't open the website page until fulfillment has all been sent out or has it already been open?
I recall Lorenzo saying you need to put either the Astra or Polaris deck in the logbook space and use the Astrolabe attached to the book to complete the puzzle. So everyone who got the logbook gets a chance. Of course having the book beforehand does help in solving the puzzle faster.
As for the map, someone has already completed the map and posted it in on IG.

Re: The Eye Of The Ocean - Stockholm 17
I talked to GW and they started fulfillment today. This means that today they start printing the labels and started packing 1610 parcels.
They told me it will take approx a week, so next week on thursday in theory this fulfillment is done and all the packages are shipped out. It is not a job that can be done quickly and the lucky ones will get it first, and some other will be the last one of the list.

This deck is so good that it's pulling me out of my apathy on playing card collecting and back to the this hobby that I love and this forum I've had so much fun on.
Thank you Lorenzo.

I received my tracking number last Wednesday. However, FedEx shows just "label created". So, typical Gamblers Warehouse sitting on a shipment for a long time. Maybe I should just go up to their warehouse and pick it up...I wonder what would happen.... Probably they would just send me away....
What is the point of FedEx if you sit on a shipment for a week or more?

I don’t know - if a squirrel with a machine gun comes and demands his property, you give them their property if you are wise.
