Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
Another first time creator with... TWELVE decks being produced???
Oh and each deck comes with an acrylic tuck case filled with "glitter liquid". Fear not, you can buy all 12 decks plus the acrylic tuck in the (admittedly cool looking) PU leather aka Pleather case for $105 EB, $132 normal.
I might be a touch skeptical that this will actually fulfill. Just a touch.

Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
it appears that these are just 12 color swap card backs and tuck swap decks. the courts are the same for all 12 decks, which are not even color swapped. the best part of the campaign is definitely the unique box to hold all the decks. the glitter cases are kind of neat but over all meh. if you like the overall campaign, i wouold say $105 isnt too bad for 12 decks and the box and cases. this isnt for me though.

More than 12 elements I do not like about that design.

Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
The fact that the pips are in different positions on the court cards really annoys me. 12 decks is a bit much
This comment has been mod-approved since you are able to see it.

Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
This has a lot the hallmarks of an intentional "scam" campaign. A "scampaign," if you will. At a bird's eye view, here are some of the red flags:
1. First time creator with no eminence on Reddit, here, or other social media
2. Bad photoshops (I'm not that great at identifying photoshopped images, so if it's obvious enough for me, it must be bad)
3. Inconsistent photoshops (As bdawg mentioned, the pips change places between the number and court cards)
4. Minimal effort in the campaign page (Where's the story? Also, there is bolded text in at least one random place, so minimal proof reading)
5. A campaign page that reads like it was run through Google translate and then posted
6. No stretch goals
7. Extremely cheap rewards (12 decks, their respective acrylic cases, and a PU leather brickbox with magnetic enclosures for $105. That just doesn't seem feasible)
8. No prototypes
These are just a few, at that's at a first glance. Any one flag is usually not enough to make me question a campaign, but there are a lot here. Please note, I do not want to insult any creator, so I will not call this a scam, but rather stick to my choice of words as saying "it has the hallmarks of a scam."
If the creator feels insulted, please swing by here and I would be more than happy to apologize. Until then, this is a strong "Backer Beware."

Hey for another 130 bucks you can add 300 poker chips in all twelve colors as well!
I’m following the campaign to see what to look out for. It’s getting pretty clear

Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
I am creating a post to help identify potentially fraudulent campaigns. Here is an except for this particular creator:
"First time creator I have never heard of. No social media or website links on their Kickstarter profile, generic blurb on "About the Creator". Googling "Double S Creations" leads me to a Facebook profile for an arts and crafts shop that hasn't been active since 2020 and an Instagram profile for a design company in India, neither consistent with the "Maria Alicea" of West Dallas, Texas on the Kickstarter profile. No mention of the campaign or playing cards on the aforementioned Facebook or Instagram profiles. Or anywhere for that matter. Creator has only backed 4 projects, but has a private profile, so I can't check the legitimacy of what they backed."
I am about 50/50 this is the same guy (maybe 2 different, unrelated guys):
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/13 ... ying-cards
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/35 ... ying-cards
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/12 ... stals-no-2
Basically, this guy (or guys) will use multiple accounts. Some of those accounts are used at the beginning of the campaign to "kick it off," and then use a few others to "close the gap." They keep their accounts private so you can't double-check for that. I strongly believe that will be the case here.
I'll get to the red flags to look for in the campaigns themselves in a few days. But, for this particular campaign, most of them will be what I already mentioned in my post above.
Good news, 4 people have dropped. Bad news, I think 70 or so people are going to be very disappointed. If that's anyone on this forum, please message me. I will give you some more insight. Honestly, I will feel super bad if this is a legit campaign, however unlikely. If that's the case, I will gladly eat my humble pie and retract everything. And do something nice for them next time to make it up to them. Until then, I have reported everything to Kickstarter. I am more than happy to let them sort it out.

Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
I'm waiting for the day that someone produces a deck of cards called SCAM. They can hire Natalia Silva as non-artist.
Sadly there are 92 backers now and they are well over their funding goal. Sigh.

It should come as a surprise to no one that it looks like the creator on this project has done a runner. Luckily I didn't back and I hope no one else here did either!

Re: 12 Elements Playing Cards by Double S Creations [KS]
Might have been a scam from the get go but I would have thought that scammers could produce more enticing vapor
Rereading Daisho’s post, and double checked the campaign page - $105 for the set is of course impossible - certainly it was pure insanity

Plus, shipping that thing is probably pretty expensive now.
