Annihilation Playing cards will be launching 30/01/2022 at 14:00 GMT.
Decks will be printed by Cartamundi and there are some awesome stretch goals to work toward.
The third tuck test print of the series, Annihilation: Red Dawn. Using a red stock with black and white foil from @foilcoltd. ... the second deck of the Annihilation series, Eclipse. It uses a cool metallic paper from @gfsmithpapers and some amazing copper and holographic gold foils from @foilcoltd

Re: Annihilation Playing Cards by CHSD Playing Cards [KS Jan. 30 2022]
i am in for the set, even though the price grinds me a little, its not outrageous. $16.33 per deck is just over what i have set as a $15.00 deck in my mind. with inflation in shipping and materials, i really need to adjust my pricing standards a bit.
each of the 3 decks have different courts and different backs. this is good to see as most multideck campaigns these days are just recolors and/or tuck swaps.
if the stretch goal for cold foil on the cards is reached, then the $16 per deck will be a bargain, imo.
Mr. Frampton, if you read this, please make the seals as bottom of the tuck seals if the stretch is met.

Re: Annihilation Playing Cards by CHSD Playing Cards [KS Jan. 30 2022]
Went in for a set yesterday as well - I have skipped the previous campaigns from these guys as they just weren’t for me, but I’m liking these. Three different decks showing same characters at progressions in the story - nice.
At this point I have started skipping the campaigns that overload deck counts and box styles - but give me a good triptych or quad that makes sense whenever you like

I am right on the edge of jumping in. I'm trying to put myself on a card diet. Ha ha. With Successor and Codex on the way, I'm just not sure. But the story element intrigues me... But, to Gandalf's point will we see more editions? Earth has to fight and come back right? This can't be how the story ends!

I for one am perfectly happy with a good doomsday story without a happy ending - it’s called Annihilation after all

Artwork gives me Gio vibes. While not bad at all, nothing that is going to annihilate some of my budget.

Gio? His art is more geometric. Lots of straight lines and circles. Doesn't remind me of his art at all.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 7:11 pm Artwork gives me Gio vibes. While not bad at all, nothing that is going to annihilate some of my budget.
I do love that the decks are different this time and not recolored like the last series.

The mockups look nice, but I am very much over gilding. Unless its a special signed edition. Or Butterflies...something about those

The vast majority of you will be pleased to know that we'll be unlocking the cold foiled card backs and pushing back the stretch goal for the coins.
Don't worry, you don't have to do anything or add anything, the cold foiling will be applied to ALL decks (gilded and un-gilded) for any reward level or add-on.
But, it get's better, not just the backs of the cards will be cold foiled, EVERYTHING will be cold foiled.

Coins and gilded too pricey for me - getting a pair of sets of the standards though

Last 16 hours of the campaign - at the moment I have succumbed to adding a gilded invasion and invasion coin and carat case insert (thought it would make a nice display) - moment of weakness this morning - hard to say if I will trim it back down….
Re: Annihilation Playing Cards by CHSD Playing Cards [KS Jan. 30 2022]
Had a bit of sticker shock when I saw the Kickstarter charge go through on my card. Turns out I mistook the currency for this project to be in Euros, when it was in fact in pound sterling.

Re: Annihilation Playing Cards by CHSD Playing Cards [KS Jan. 30 2022]
CHSD received the decks (well, three of the four decks) Meanwhile here's an interesting anecdote from a KS update today
Anyway shipping should begin once Cartamundi finishes up the last remaining versionSome of the more "eagle eyed" of you may have noticed that deck seals are in a weird format.
This was a mistake by Cartamundi, more specifically the company Cartamundi use to produce the seals and it was something missed by everyone, including myself until they were here, with me.
The normal format for number seals is Deck No. / Total Decks Produced, but for a reason I still don't fully understand, they formatted them 1 / Deck No.
Unfortunately, the cost to correct this issue is far too high and isn't something Cartamundi is willing to do. They did refund me the money for the deck seals, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to the overall cost of re-making the tucks, re-packing the decks, then re-sealing and re-shipping them.
Unfortunately, this is something we will have to live with. So I can only apologise for the mistake.
The decks are numbered correctly, so you will still know which number deck you have, you just won't see the total number of decks on the label.

Got my tracking info yesterday. Very excited to receive these. David has been an excellent communicator and his passion for this project shines through with every subsequent update he sends. His refusal to accept Gambler's continued extension of deadlines was admirable and it really made me feel like he wanted to see this deck in the backers' hands even more than his own. This man knows how to run a campaign.

Woah. Is this based on Jeff Vandemeer's book. I love that book so much. This deck looks cool. The set is made with really complimentary colours. I need to see more.

Completely unrelated to Jeff Vandemeer's book. But, with the holofoil, there's certainly some "shimmer" going on, even so!Squiddle_Ink wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 3:02 pm Woah.
