Maybe stop making military look all cool and heroic would help with that...

Designwise, consistency would have been nice. E.g. for the hearts = arctic warfare, spades = jungle... or hearts = infantery, clubs = air force and so on and so forth.
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that’s being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

I'm puzzled as to how this funded so well, so quickly from an unknown artist who appears to have no following in the card community. Perhaps a big military community supporting him? Anyone here in for these decks?

I won't get political but I agree with Harvonsgard. These kinda remind me of those 'Literacy for Jihad' books the CIA were caught flogging to Afghan school kids in the 80s to brainwash them

There is a lot of effort in this deck. It's all over the place and some folks took time to make sure it suited their view and dreams. To that effort I applaud. Even though this deck is not to my taste at all I can see the draw of the deck for some folks, well lots of folks really. After all, Call of duty sells very well.

Haha it was less the theme than the lack of promotion or knowledge of this guy in the community combined with the theme.

It's the UK army too. I think even a US army edition with guns all over it and the Iwo Jima US flag being raised on the front would struggle to get this kind of backing in the first 12 hours.

I'm in awe at how quickly it hit the top of the popularity algorithm on KS.

Personal Note: Aside from the art being amazing by itself, with many decks I have seen in this realm, they tend to be cheap plastic cards. These are high quality cards with a company that reaches out. Def. check out their site, and dont forget about the "who we support" link at the bottom of the page.

Highly recommend!!!

i was excite to see what this deck would look like when i first saw the back released but the art is a little too much on the cartoony side. i wish it had a bit more realistic style. it could have been much more badass. i have not looked at the price yet but i may be in for one even with the somewhat fishy looking start just to support veterans, even if they are from across the pond.

as for some of the other comments above about the military, just be thankful to those men and women you have the freedom to be on the internet posting whatever views you like.

Okay, look. We all have our opinions about politics and war and Brittney Spears. But, this forum is supposed to be about our shared passion: playing cards.

Now, like y'all, I enjoy the occasional conversation about other topics, and if you'd like to engage in those conversations about other topics with the fine folks at UC, allow me to direct you to the various topics you can find (or create) in the General forum under "Community" (found here: https://unitedcardists.com/viewforum.php?f=18). And, if you'd like to duke it out over your differences, feel free to visit the "Thunderdome" there.

This thread, however, might be best left to return to the topic at hand.

Thanks.
