Agree 100%MagikFingerz wrote:Wow. I am literally crossing my fingers hoping this will NOT be funded. Minimal amount of work put in design-wise, with tons of add-ons and big words like "unique", "limited" and "reserved for collectors" thrown around more than poop in a monkey cage. Seriously, a box made of "Black Vellum Paper and Gold Foil", yet standard courts merely recolored with gold? No thanks, especially not at inflated prices and shipping.
I feel like I'm getting more and more cynical and direct in my commentary on new kickstarter projects, so I apologize if anyone finds me offensive.
I have to agree with this one, I will pay $8 once they are out on their websitesms69x wrote:Actually I kinda liked the design! Elegant and simple! The 2 things that do not appeal to me are the standard court cards, and the price!!
I'll wait for them to be available at their store at a much lower price, and maybe then I bought 1 or 2!
Exactly! I've bought their last 2 decks which are quite nice! Love the pips design, but not a big fan of the back design..Magic_Orthodoxy wrote:I on the other hand am on board. Not only because I appreciate their brand, but I also appreciate a simple deck.
Do not you ever correct me again. I was referring to the black backs. Do not tell me what is what. I have been collecting cards when you were still sucking on your mother's teet, yesterday.Magic_Orthodoxy wrote:a deck with white faces and white borders is not what I would call a "black deck"
True black decks like black tigers, black ghost etc.... those I am sick of
We had 2 backers that mentioned that. We appreciate our backers feedback, and we listen to all of you. That was removed from the back 3 weeks ago we simply didn't updated the project description. The deck won't be printed with that words.
Hi everyone,
Here's a sneak peek at some samples of the Majestic box sent by the printers.
One word: gorgeous.
The paper feels like velvet and the gold foil actually looks and feels like real gold.
We just can't stop looking at the samples, and we can't wait to get the decks and ship them to you!
Have a great week!
Love,
Elite.
The reason certain dealers have the Majestic decks so quickly is because Elite wholesales all the decks left over after the KS campaign to Murphy's. They are sent directly from USPCC, so Murphy's is getting them the same time as Elite. Remember, most of these designers need the money because either they spent the profit they got from KS or they did not make enough to cover their expenses.the assman wrote:Greetings fellow card enthusiasts. New member, long time lurker. Cool forum.
So I see that Penguin Magic is selling the Majestic deck for $7.49 with same day shipping. I pledged for 2 decks at $21 and I haven't received them yet.
So basically I, and the other KS backers, helped the designer to produce this deck. Without our help this deck would not have been made. And for our efforts we got charged a premium and we have to wait longer for our decks. Feels like a slap in the face.
Majestic is definitely the last deck I will back made by Elite Playing Cards. I'm also really starting to question if I should back any card projects on KS. It just seems to me that a Project Creator on Kickstarter should act with a certain humbleness. The creator is, after all, asking for money to fund their creation. I don't begrudge them a profit, after all it is their vision and hard work (and our $) that brings the product to life. It just seems that lately greed is taking the place of gratitude.
I have to add that the last paragraph does not apply to Uusi. They are a class act and I will be backing the new Blue Bloods!
