Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
Would be hilarious if the art of play design on the tuck box is indeed the back design.

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
I've never purchased a brick of any deck ... not even half a brick ... but decided to go for a full twelve mystery decks from AoP today. I hope I get something that strikes my fancy!

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
It's been such a long time since I've bought any decks from the Buck twins, I thought to myself, "What the hell, why not go for 3 mystery decks?" Chances are I wouldn't have anything they sent since I hardly have any decks from AoP so no fear of unwanted duplicates. Honestly, I was expecting to get a Bruce Lee deck or a Vintage Plaid, but I have to admit I think I got lucky and got a nice selection.
The first mystery deck was a brown Drifters deck. I was pleasantly surprised by the pretty nice custom courts and the whole western cowboy theme.
The second mystery deck was the 2nd edition If An Octopus Could Palm deck. We all know what this is, lucky indeed.
The third mystery deck is actually a true mystery to me: The Cybernetic deck. Other than the picture hsbc posted last Saturday, I have zero info on this deck. The whole tuck box is holographic and the tuck says art by Ivan Moscovich. There seems to be a misprint on the bottom of the tuck. It has the Art of Play logo, the phrases "Premium Playing Cards" and "Printed in China", but above the two phrases is the phrase, "Produced and Distributed By" printed upsidedown, which is odd. I don't know who the printer is, the Twins usually go with USPCC, but this is some printer in China, maybe LPCC/EPCC? There's no description of this deck on the Art of Play website. If anyone can give me any additional info, that would be greatly appreciated it!
Edit* Nevermind, I just found the thread on this deck, oops. It's been a while since I've been here so I missed a lot.

Placed two orders - one for 2 bricks, and another for 1 brick 10 minutes later - they shipped the 1 brick, which arrived today - haven’t heard from them yet on what happened to the first order…

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
I was going to grab a couple bricks but they wants >$100 for shipping. Not sure how they manage that high a cost when someone like Pengiun Magic can ship for free. If it was half that price I would have gone for it.

Seeing the pic above and the stickers, I’m guessing each deck uses a different character and each has the walking up the side flip book style

That's a nice looking haul you got there! Does the Stranger deck have gold foil on the tuck, or is it just an illusion in the pic?

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
Now what a interesting is that I have two versions of the v1. The original one with D&D in the seal and on the bottom, and one by AOP that has been in production for quite a while. Do you think they count as v1 and v2 and the good is V3?

Not sure - thought the AOP version was gold - I have another AOP version around here I’ll have to dig up to compare to…

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
There have been multiple printings of the Ultimate Deck with silver foil on the tuck. The first printing was not wrapped in cellophane, had a bluish black tuck and a cream colored seal with a relatively sharp image. The second printing (and any subsequent printings) were all wrapped in cellophane, had a blacker tuck and the seal was a little pinkish and the image on it was a little blurry (like they took the original seal and copied it to make the seal for the second printing).
If the deck you got in the mystery decks has gold foil, then I would consider it a v2

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
I ordered a single brick of the mystery decks on the 5th of December, and my shipment arrived yesterday. I'm very pleased with the results (and contemplating another brick while they're still available). Of the dozen, it looks like I received three exclusives:
I also only received marching Knights stickers, along with the spade from Art of Play -- I know I've seen from which deck that is paired, but I can't remember right now -- maybe it was just a mystery deck design element.
- Peau-Doux - Turquoise
- James Coffee Co. - Orange (this one is the only disappointment as the text on the sides of the tuck was smudged on both sides -- handled too soon after the print)
- Drifters - Gold

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
Here's my haul of 3 bricks... Definitely not the worst, but I guess not the best either. The two IAOCP v2 and gold HMNIM were pluses for sure! The overlook and the three peau doux were decent pulls too. Other than that, the rest are meh.. But you win some, you lose some.

I’ve got last year’s wrapper, and a few decks from this year are en route, so I can open one really carefully and save that wrapper too. Just message me privately where you want the pair of them mailed and they’re yours.

Re: Mystery Deck Exclusives by AoP
I am disappointed that I missed out on the gold HMNIM decks as I did not even see that had become available on the HMNIM website. The problem is I have too many other AoP decks to make the chance of getting one in mystery brick not worth it. Hopefully, they become available again.
