With someone buying 3 bricks I'm sure they will be found by the reseller for a premium price x.x

I agree 100%. Out of the 8, this may be #1 to me.
I hope the UK people and others will be taken care of by still getting a deck.

It's times like this I regret not being a member.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Actually, they picked up quite a few members. They were even signing up some last night. I think opening up the convention and other events virtually has definitely expanded their membership reach. I also think expanding more with members of modern playing cards has brought in a newer group of members. That said, I would personally enjoy learning more about the early playing cards and picking up a few more of those decks.

From the discussion last night, Lorenzo was being sent #001-010 and 017. I think he is the only person being granted number requests. So, whoever gets one of these decks from Lorenzo will be getting the lowest of the numbers. Privilege of being the designer, which makes sense to me.

I don't care about the numbers but as a designer I feel that you should pick or keep whatever numbers that you want to. I had a 7/10 deck (probably doesn't count in this case) but I canceled later. Besides that, I'll have to look through collection to see what's the lowest number.

Well, damn. Put me on the list for anyone able to hook a brother up.
1000 decks for over 500 members with a limit of 3 bricks makes ZERO logical sense...

Yeah I'd love to get one of these too if anyone got a spare. Guess it's finally time to join the club.

I am interested too in getting a deck, at least one. Having someone buy 3 bricks is insane and not allowing everyone to have a chance at getting them is also insane (euro buyers etc)

I don’t have the words to express the level of regret I have for missing this drop. If I manage to get one, I will be so happy! Someone help me keep hope alive.

I have a feeling the feeding frenzy around this deck was unexpected by the club. I feel that the hobby has really taken off since the pandemic started.

Looks like there are quite a few who missed out on this one - I managed to pick up 5 decks, and although I would enjoy maintaining a tight grip on all of them, and at risk of being mistaken for a nice guy, I guess I could manage to pry one loose and offer it to members here…
To be fair lets see if it gets the ball rolling and entices others to offer up decks - if not enough get offered up to cover everyone who wants one some type of random drawing can be done to choose the recipient(s)
Will offer mine at cost + shipping

Re: 2021 52 Plus Joker Club Deck by Stockholm17
ALL 6 DECKS HAVE BEEN CLAIMED. I’m sorry to anyone who missed out. If for some reason one of these doesn't work out I’ll let you all know.
I have 6 extra decks I would be willing to let go! $30+ shipping for one deck. One per person, and only to people who don’t already have one please. PM me if you’re interested!
Just a small warning here, I have very little experience with international shipping, so if you’re outside the US you might have to be a bit patient with me when I’m trying to figure out shipping prices, and sending the deck. I impulsively got a lot more decks than I needed, and I’d be glad to let some go to people who didn’t get any!
(EDIT) Thanks for trying to get the ball rolling Gandalf! I posted and saw that you’d beat me too it!

Genuine question - why not be a member?
Naturally anyone here at UC is into playing cards. 52+J membership is inexpensive, and they provide 2 great publications - one digital (Card Culture) and one hard copy (Clear the Decks).
Being able to buy club decks every year is just icing on the cake.

Re: 2021 52 Plus Joker Club Deck by Stockholm17
There's a healthy number of members who either only collect single cards instead of full decks, or who only collect vintage/antique decks and not modern. But even some of them will make the exception for the club deck.MagikFingerz wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 10:23 am Well, damn. Put me on the list for anyone able to hook a brother up.

I can understand allowing people to buy multiples, but I agree that the 3-brick limit is super high. Maybe in future years they'll cap it at 12 per person.
I'll cut them some slack though, I don't think a club deck has EVER sold out this fast, so I'm sure it took them by surprise.

Re: 2021 52 Plus Joker Club Deck by Stockholm17
Honestly it's just something I never thought about doing. I've been collecting for like 8 years now, but I was never big into the conventions or paid much attention to them. That and I wasn't sure what I would get for the $25 (other than the option to purchase the deck). Now that I think about it, for that price every year there's no reason why I shouldn't.Reylek wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 12:55 pmGenuine question - why not be a member?

Re: 2021 52 Plus Joker Club Deck by Stockholm17
Makes sense.
There's plenty more to the club than just the convention or the club deck. Though I highly recommend the convention to anyone who can make it, and the club decks are always great.
For the price of one premium deck per year for membership, just Card Culture & Clear the Decks are worth it - so many interesting articles.
I could see hesitation if it was like $100/year, but IMHO anyone who's reading this thread should be a member. I'm not on the board or anything like that, just a happy member for 7 years.

There are small magazines / newsletters called Clear The Decks that you get shipped every four(?) months, they are full of cool photos and infoEvilDuncan wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 1:14 pmThat and I wasn't sure what I would get for the $25 (other than the option to purchase the deck)

The more I think about it the more I think they really need to change the way they do this - if you're a club member, you should be able to buy the deck if you want without any stress. That's so obvious I can't believe I'm typing it. A three brick limit! Wild. I saw someone post on Patreon that they had joined 52+J specifically to buy the deck and they missed it...
Call me crazy but if I were in charge of 52+J I'd go so far as to print more of these with a minor seal difference or something

I cancelled my membership because of this.Decknowledgy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:00 pm I still can't get over the UK thing. So UK folks should just suck it?
I remember this shipping issue was prominent during the early days of Brexit and lockdown, but later shipping got back to normal in the UK. But somehow for the club this is still an issue.... Even most of the Kickstarter projects that once had no shipping options to UK have all fixed those issues.
The better way is to maintain at least some stock for a later time instead of just letting the 999 sell out right away, especially for those who won't have a chance to get it right off the bat due to shipping issues.
But whatever, I digress.
Playing cards, esp. shipping, have always been in favor of the American market.

The club is still saying they won’t ship to the UK?

Translation: we won't take the time to fill out the paperwork.
I mean, that's their choice and they're under zero obligation to do so, but I imagine that they take the membership money quick enough.
It just makes me hate the 51% who voted for Brexit even more; shortsighted, racist motherf***ers.
