Re: Vivid Kingdoms
Welcome surprise. As a well-known YouTube personality he could have easily just attached his name to the project and called it a day. Instead, he designed the deck and this project will bring a ton of non-collectors into the collecting world. Kudos and I think this looks great.

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
Already #4 in most funded projects and looks like it will reach #3 today…. Perhaps even #2
Still climbing at just over 1k per minute
Looks like #3 within the hour - will be surprised if it doesn’t reach #1 before its over
Hit #3 and doesn’t appear to be slowing down…
Just hit #2

Long time I have seen a project from a new designer that got me excited. Great artwork!
Would pledge more but shipping for add-ons is just crazy.

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
That's it... We have a new KS highest funder.
You think he will take the best seller prize as well? At this rate it seems almost certain I guess.

Monochrome back design and one-way courts are two of my biggest pet peeves, so I won't be backing. The art is good though, there's no denying that.

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
At $1m funding, he will be printing approximately 50,000 decks. And rising.
Never heard of him but quite impressive. Crossover decks by people who are popular in another realm have the potential to go huge. But these seem to be outliers in the card collecting universe.

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
Here is the previous top most funded playing card projects of all time:
1. $630,300 - The Name of the Wind Art Deck by Elodin Enterprises
2. $589,660 - The Name of the Wind by Albino Dragon
3. $564,558 - MINT 2 by 52Kards
4. $477,229 - Jerry's Nugget by Expert Playing Card Company
5. $393,000 - The Eye of the Ocean by Stockholm17
6. $364,000 - The Photography Deck by Travel9to5
7. $321,052 - Anubis & Osiris Shadow by Steve Minty
8. $287,813 - The NOC Luxury Collection by Riffle Shuffle x House of Playing Cards
9. $265,200 - Arrow & Shield Playing Cards by Card Mafia
10. $250,887 - Kingdom & Kinghood by Artisan Playing Cards
Vivid Kingdoms has absolutely smashed the previous #1. It's now approaching over 20,000 backers, and already over $1.8 million in funding. At this point hitting $2 million isn't altogether unlikely.
I've suggested a few potential factors for this incredible success, along with some analysis, in this article: The First Ever Million Dollar Playing Card Project on Kickstarter

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
There was a 'super limited' (2500) release yesterday of a Limited Black Edition Collectors Deck that was supposed to go live on KS at noon EST but the platform broke so people couldn't add it. At some point hours later in the afternoon, the problem was fixed, but it seems like only those who were dedicated enough to stick around were able to grab one. Probably should have rescheduled the drop given all of the technical issues, but it is what it is. It's a cool deck, but not worth my time to sit and refresh a browser over for hours. There's a pretty epic comment chain on the KS page if anyone is interested. Seems to have some pretty diehard fans.

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
Certainly super rare to consider 2500 decks super rare
That being said, the number that don’t get used or tightly held vs the number of people that want them may make them feel super rare…
Figure that the various versions of this deck will account for the single largest print run of a custom deck - though I have little to base that on

Re: Vivid Kingdoms
Forgot about the verbiage for the orange deck
It is his first deck, so I’ll give him a pass on not understanding the proper context… this time
Of course unless someone clues him in there is no way he will figure it out on his own

Pretty sure most of the newbies are his YouTube fans, and will likely be horrifically patient with fulfillment - in contrast to how up in arms they were at people who took advantage of the ability to get two of the “rare” black decks - as they will treat Ten Hundred with all kindness that they kept in pocket while dealing with “greedy” patrons
