What the heck is this ?!

Re: LGBT Playing Cards- a USPC card deck now live on Kicksta
I flat out do not like the design. I also do not endorse LGBT. I am apathetic towards that community. I used to be completely against it but now I'm just indifferent.
What I'm really wondering though is why they are trying to profit off of the LGBT community and its sympathizers? I don't really buy the story about their daughter. Most of these kinds of 'awareness' decks usually have some of the proceeds go towards a charitable foundation. This couple is keeping the profit to themselves. I'm not against profit but don't use an 'awareness' type deck to do it.

Blech. I like colourful decks, but I hate the courts in this one. That back design isn't very impressive either.

Geez, even the cards are "coming out". It'll be interesting to see how far funding will go but I guarantee these won't be funded 100%.

Re: LGBT Playing Cards- a USPC card deck now live on Kicksta
I personally don't care for the deck at all, bit I'd bet you that it will scream past 100% just from other members of the LGBT community supporting their brothers and sisters, regardless of whether or not the truly love the cards. Making a statement of support.
Of course, that's entirely dependent on how well they get the word out about the deck.

Kickstarter doesn't allow projects to promise that the proceeds will go to charitable foundations.

While I do like some of the colors on these (the 10, 9 and 7 are nice imo, the 8 needs a different background color though) the courts are quite ugly. I'm also not a fan of the LGBT thing or awareness campaigns/causes in general. Hopefully the creator is sincere and not just trying to make a buck. :\

Wow. I had no idea the UC community was so intolerant...

Huh? I must have missed the intolerant posts. I think everyone said that they just don't like the cards, which is very understandable.Frequenter wrote:Wow. I had no idea the UC community was so intolerant...

Agreed, no intolerant comments. These cards, regardless of their beliefs - are ugly.

I think these are the two apparently "intolerant" posts.MagikFingerz wrote:Huh? I must have missed the intolerant posts...Frequenter wrote:Wow. I had no idea the UC community was so intolerant...

"1. I also do not endorse LGBT. I am apathetic towards that community. I used to be completely against it but now I'm just indifferent.
2. I'm also not a fan of the LGBT thing or awareness campaigns/causes in general.
Below are some general comments - not specific to LGBT... nor to Frequenter since I don't have a thorough understanding of the thoughts of the poster.
With obliviousness to their own hypocrisy, the seekers of tolerance (to whatever their cause happens to be) demonstrate intolerance to those who don't see things their way. The seekers of tolerance only tolerate things in others they don't really care about. Their tolerance is really apathy. In principles or activities that they have strong opinions, they show no tolerance for the other side. I suspect many are not even satisfied with tolerance. They won't be content with anything less than endorsement. Diversity is only celebrated within their own views - the opposition viewpoint(s) is/are not to be allowed in a culture supportive of diversity. (once again oblivious to their own hypcorisy)

One person calling many intolerant proves that one person making these judgments has had himself encased in intolerance and, the not so intolerant will never be able to break the chains encasing he and his intolerance

Re: LGBT Playing Cards- a USPC card deck now live on Kicksta
I shouldn't have said anything. I do absolutely believe that people are entitled to their opinions, and to voice them! I was just a little surprised to see some fairly negative comments on an open community forum, is all. I kind of jumped on the defensive without really thinking, not from a personal place but rather just a belief in equality. I apologise for my hypocrisy.

The only thing I think all people can agree to be intolerant about is people named Walrus.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm actually the first person to do this and have done it on 2 projects already, it's not a raffle. A raffle is when a group of people buy in and only one person walks away with something. This is a random selection aka everyone gets something.sprouts1115 wrote:And they have a raffle. thought you could not do that.Soliloquy wrote:Kickstarter doesn't allow projects to promise that the proceeds will go to charitable foundations.

No idea if the 'raffle' thing is allowed or not, but the Grid 2.0 did the same thing so that might be where they got the idea.

So much for my prediction! Now you know why I do so poorly in the stock market!

^^Lol. My prediction was right. What you meant to say was it'll scream past $100 but that's it!

I think if they did it up properly it'd be more of a hit, this one doesn't look like it took much effort.
