Please join me as I launch a project I've been working on for a long time. On June 1st at 9am EST I'll be launching the Barclay Mountain Project. This project is more than just a deck of playing cards. It's a turning point for the Barclay Mountain Company as we transition into a lifestyle brand. No longer will we solely be working on playing cards and tarot cards.
With that said, one of the main rewards for this Kickstarter project will be a deck of Bicycle branded Barclay Mountain playing cards. As we move into the future we wanted to start producing products like our ancestors before us. Products that are long lasting and made by hand.
I would appreciate your support as we take on our biggest challenge ever.

Disappointed they decided to slap bike on this, would have been interested otherwise but best of luck to them I'm sure it'll sell

Oh, I was thinking there will be a branded and (almost always better) unbranded version so, I didn't bothered about the branding. If there only will be a branded version that would be a shame. Downsizing good artwork just to add Bicycle ...

Kinda torn on this. I love all the Barclay Mountain decks (I think im missing 2 from the hometown series), and I don't really buy into lifestyle brands cuz I'll never use the products, but they are local-ish to me, and wanna support the shop

Not a fan of red index corner A-K and diamonds + hearts then the light blue pips. Can you pick one or the other color, not both?
Move on, nothing to see here.

Please check out my project. It's frustrating to see six months of hard work get shunned. This is my retirement deck.

Few things that are probably leading to not getting funded. I hope you take this in the spirit it is intended which is constructive criticism and observations.rjtomlinson1977 wrote: βSat Jun 05, 2021 9:51 am Please check out my project. 1. You have a single deck reward which is $10 shipping internationally. This means $23 shipped for a single deck that isn't really that full featured (no foil, nothing special on the tuck I can see).
2. It's a campaign that lacks focus. Cards, belts and soap are probably not the same audience.
3. You cannot even add-on the main deck to the single deck pledge but you can add on the other decks you offer but there is nothing about them in the campaign except that you can add them on for $10 each which leads to...
4. I went to your web site to find out more about those 10 decks. They are very specific appeal to Americans, not sure they would appeal to anyone else. Oddly, it's actually cheaper to buy them from your web site instead of KS since you are offering them there for buy 2 get 1 free.
5. There are some amazing campaigns out now you are competing with, there might be too much going on right now for a single deck unfocussed campaign to get any traction.
Finally:
I have liked your decks in the past and backed for all of the Unrest series but this one, aside from the back design, didn't really appeal to me. Sorry you didn't get the response you were hoping for but hopefully his post helps you understand possibly why that might be.

I'll add my voice to the chorus that you should make the deck available as an add-on to the campaign.

Re: Bicycle Barclay Mountain Playing Cards by RJ Tomlinson KS 6/1
My set came in today as well. Thanks for uploading the photos hsbc as I am not opening my set.
Well, I did open the soap bar, and plan to use the soap. It smells soo good too. I am really looking forward to using it. My bar was "Black Forest" scent. I don't know about the others, but Black Forest is great in my opinion.
I am sure going to miss RJ as a deck creator. Best wishes though as you move on to other things!
