Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
I understand decks will be awesome, Alex is of course one of the elite creative artist, and everyone is happy to get the deck when it gets. However, like aznh, I'd like to get an update at some interval (or regular interval). So per the last update given by Alex via his instagram, newsletter, etc. noted around end of April for GW to assemble and ship the decks out. So I'd be looking forward to some form of update in the coming dates or week for sure. Asking for a regular/update at a cadence would/should not be a big issue hopefully.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
Add to the above -- latest update or rather a new picture of one of the seven decks I saw was on "tobefrankwithcards" instagram page. Here is the screenshot of his post. Looks like he did a photoshoot for Alex. I'm assuming the cards are almost ready to ship out hopefully and a new update from Alex on* where GW is at with assembling and shipping would be awesome.

Alex said (in FB P52 group) these were prototype only... The original post was deleted because Frank posted that as a selling item.GandalfTheWhite wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 10:03 pm Add to the above -- latest update or rather a new picture of one of the seven decks I saw was on "tobefrankwithcards" instagram page. Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
I feel like I'm always half a turn behind because I'm waiting to give actual news and someone in the forums jumps the gun a day before I can reach an announcement here lol. I'm not a huge fan of updates without progress but I understand that this lead time is extreme and do apologize for that. After the AoP incident I wanted a verbal confirmation of where we were at before announcing instead of assuming. The next announcement would have been fulfillment.
GW confirmed on the 19th being finished with assembly and starting cellophaning with an estimate of 2-2.5 weeks for fulfillment. In theory they should be closing cellophaning and starting fulfillment this week, but again I didn't want to post until I had actual confirmation. I was hoping to post tomorrow once I got a confirmation. I'm posting now because I do want to ease people's concerns, but I wish we could have waited a few more hours so I could give you guys a better progress update.
The picture of the cards were of the actual cards and boxes were real prints (although I hand cut the boxes). They were completed and in hand February to give you an idea before logistics happened. Frank posted a picture mostly because I thought GW would give me an update sometime this week and wanted to get people excited about it. GW is doing a great job and has really picked up the slack where the other team has dropped it, but this means that our logistics window doubled for a longer wait time. It doesn't mean things aren't happening, but that we had to start the window a month later than expected and so this led to updates for what is happening not really having any significant change either.
At the end of the day, I want to give you guys updates that matter because I hate spam. But I also recognize I may be more frugal in my updates than others prefer and will be sure to improve upon that. I know this update is more reassurance than substance but I hope to be able to post tomorrow with actual confirmed information in hand for you guys. And again, for anyone that for whatever reason would like to receive a refund, I am always happy to do so. We're so close to getting these projects out finally and starting fresh with some new decks for 2021. We're so close.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't Alex. Your track record speak for itself. This was a pretty minor blemish in what's been an otherwise excellent run. Folks need to calm TF down.

Did anyone get a shipping notification yet? Alex just did an update that the decks are ready soon so I expect them in my mailbox by the end of today. /s

bdawg, I have had mine for some time. They are awesome. Incredible. Yours were probably lost in the mail. Sorry for your loss. I think there was some huge wave that hit Dallas as they were shipping out. All were lost but mine. Too bad for you.

Dude, you literally made me laugh out loud.wingedpotato wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 12:42 pm Wait, there's a POPULAR card forum? Can you give me the url?
Alex, this is just my opinion, but something I've noticed some other project creators doing is posting roughly one update per month, even if the update is "still waiting for the decks to clear customs" (or whatever). Lorenzo's updates tend to be really detailed, while Randy Butterfield's might be less so, but the point is, even if there's not a lot of progress, you still know he's monitoring the situation and you can see where we are in the grand sweep of things. It's reassuring, even if there's nothing substantially new to report.
I think this update you just posted above is great. If you have more real news to post soon, even better, but this kind of update is exactly what backers like to see. A once-a-month check in is superb, even if it's just a couple sentences.
Like others here, I look forward to getting these babies into my hands. Unlike some others here, I plan to actually open them so that I can fully appreciate all the art and effort that went into this project.

I went back and checked my order and was pleased that I got my standard complete set, but also got a gilded and ungilded deck that i could open.

I should have ordered a couple of extra decks too. I ordered two complete sets and I will be hesitant to open any of them as to not "ruin" the set.

Same. These have to be opened and appreciated.
The organiser (read: OCD) in me is looking at how thick those tucks are and raising an eyebrow about whether the set of 6 will fit in a half brick carat case.

Completely missed the point. There's nothing wrong with asking for updates. It does get annoying when the person asks with attitude and sarcasm though.juxtaposed wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 11:09 amyou're not supposed to mention or ask for updates on UC.wingedpotato wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 10:20 am Anyone have any update on these? Well, just trying to add some humor here...this is the Hindsight Edition.
Seriously, I hope everyone here (in the US) has a great Memorial Day weekend, takes time to reflect on those in our military that put their lives on the line to keep us safe, and pays respect to those that have gone before and paid for our freedoms with their lives.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
no i dont think he got an email
hes simply saying from the last newsletter that was sent out weeks ago we shouldve received shipping notification from GW by now but it hasnt happened as usual
its nice to see others getting annoyed from the lack of communication and a misrepresentation from a February-April-May delivery date
so now we push July since June is pretty much here and i dont expect much
geez these tuck boxes must be something really idiotic
this is worse then the infamous Lotrék delays

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
I've been in touch with Alex privately in the last week or so regarding the status of NPCCD. He's seemingly as baffled as the rest of us. I hope he doesn't mind me posting this ...
In theory GW is completing fulfillment but I've contacted them to check in and haven't gotten a response usually meaning some delays. All they need to do is ship so I'm not sure what could cause any further delay.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
Glad to finally give you the update you guys have been waiting for. All orders are shipped finally! GW for the most part was able to complete all orders this past May and was able to really knock out these orders where another company could not and for that I am forever grateful.
A few insights into some of the confusion:
Almost all fulfillment and orders provide email tracking notifications automatically in the settings when a label is printed. However if you are batch shipping and packaging this means that you get an email and it may not necessarily mean that your package is ready to ship or in transit. When you get tracking email with no information this is why. This is what we are all used to and what I was also under the impression of for protocol when I mentioned that Gambler's was beginning fulfillment. I assumed incorrectly that when they were packaging everyone would be getting their emails.
GW alternatively (I believe from requests over time) has set their push notifications to customers to activate when scanned into the USPS hub so that the emails you receive have actionable info of your package already in transit. This means less waiting when you get your email, but also that even though they were packaging the past couple weeks, no one was receiving emails. This is where most of the discrepancy in expectation occurred where we interpreted radio silence from them as delay rather than them already starting packing and fulfillment.
All orders are officially out but if you are domestic you won't receive your email until most likely early next week in which you will be receiving your package probably within 1-2 days of receiving that email. For those international you will most likely be receiving your email notification once it hits the Chicago facility (depending on how fast they process it, expect an email later next week).
Thank you guys again for all your patience. I can't express enough how happy I am to get these out the door.
