Not quite.

... Patreon isn't a way to get decks through monthly installments -although you can see it like this.
Primarily it's a contribution to help the making of exquisite stuff that needs a lot of time in planning, researching and designing. In return, you're getting exclusive stuff but what really counts is that you will see decks that without your help would be very difficult -or impossible- to bring into life. That said, if you feel that $25 or $45 per month is too much, you can just select the $5 tier which is really nothing but if we collect many nothings they become something and this is equally appreciated!

Furthermore Lotrék mentioned multiple times that he isn't very fond on sharing wip and or behind the scenes.

Not not quite. He suggested that there wouldn't be a lot of content, not that there wouldn't be any, and he has, in fact, shared some behind-the-scenes content already for other projects. I don't think it's totally unreasonable to hope for a bit of content every couple of months, even a first glance at something that's going to be posted on Instagram in any case. Sharing it with Patrons first wouldn't require much extra effort.

I didn't say there won't be any but for me it was pretty clear what to expect from Lotrék and his patreon before I joined .
What's a first glance anyways but yet another illusion of exclusivity? A stroke for the ego to be something special?
But maybe that's just how I look at it .

To live without hope is to cease to live.

Unique content would, of course, be better, but a first glance at something destined to be public would at least be throwing us a bone. Not to mention, that's all the basic "Patron" tier gets. Even if it's just about getting the decks, some mention of a Patron pre-sale for a big new project might also be nice.

Suffering arises when we want things to be other than how they are. Where there is hope, there is fear and where there is fear there is hope. They are like two sides of the same coin. When we feel uneasy, we get restless, we want to change something about ourselves or others, we hope things could be another way. Having no hope can be the start of a radical form of acceptance.

And a personal favorite of mine whilst being an awesome song, too:

No Hope = No Fear

Unique content is the special deck(s) I get. Mileage of course may vary, but everything else is not of interest for me and I rather have my artist focusing on the pursuit of his art/craft than being disrupted by pleasing unnecessary needs. That's what I would define is the spirit of being a patr(e)on.
