I just went back and checked my orders...Yes. I got a full set and a gilded and ungilded set. Great. I have a couple of decks to open, while keeping a complete set...sealed away.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
Absolutely fair, there were some unexpected bumps along the way that caused some delays.
Art of Play already has the boxes and decks and are assembling. They will also be fulfilling rather than myself this time in an effort to ensure a speedier delivery. With the exception of UK deliveries I don't forsee shipments going past end of March.

If you got a 5 pack (or 6 pack if you ordered early) then yeah for sure. Not guaranteed for anything that breaks a full set though.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
Just a few minutes ago: https://www.instagram.com/p/CNK7MC-sRFm/
We wanted to update you all on the status for the latest on the 2020 NPCCD decks. Production of all items were finished earlier this year and given to an established assembly/fulfillment group specializing in cards. We had estimated that they would begin shipping this past week. Unfortunately we were given the news a couple days ago at a month check in that they were unable to do the project due to the box complexity after various attempts. This was disappointing for us to hear especially and painful for us to share with you guys as well who have been waiting so patiently.
The good news however is that we have reached out to the amazing people at @gamblerswarehouseofficial and they have already tested and approved the ability to take on this complex project All items are already in transit to them and we are so grateful for their expertise. The estimated completion of full project assembly given has been 2-3 weeks in which afterwards the decks will immediately go out from that location direct to you all to make up for lost time.
Side news: UNBROKEN will finally be fulfilled end of this month! Some hiccups on making these were figured out so it is now ready for scale as well. ITADAKIMASU is officially set up for a summer launch. And finally a secret that we've been holding and working on for a while will be made later this month.

transparency is what most people ask for in life and this isnt it by any means
chin knew there was problems weeks ago and kept everyone in the dark and to boot this update is on IG which many people dont have or dont follow
how bout a simple newsletter update to your subscribers where most learned of the project to begin with
what a joke to bounced to gamblers from AoP

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
Bit odd not to send an email update to purchasers, not everyone looks at Instagram (I don't). That said, it's Alex and I highly doubt anything nefarious going on, just poor awareness by him of the best way to communicate.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
To be clear, I did not find out about this problem until a few days ago. AoP received the first batch of cards mid Feb and confirmed receiving box materials to start the project late February. I sent over the second batch of remaining gilded decks to them half way through March. At no point was there any indication from them that the project had been dropped. I believe the month long time cost was them testing different methods and vendors and eventually realized they could not fulfill on their end. I did wait a few days from when I received notice to now because I wanted to make sure a solution was in place before giving an update but have been fully transparent throughout this entire process whenever there was any news available to myself to provide to you guys.
I completely understand your frustration and share in it with you guys on a multiplied level. This news is as huge a shock to you guys as it was to me.
Regarding the newsletter I was testing sending them out in small batches every couple hours to avoid the Gmail promotions tab as that's been a big email problem starting to pop up. This was the wrong time to do side testing on how to fix that and should have just done a normal send out. Every purchaser should receive one in the next hour (if you don't check your promotions tab or spam folder).
Again to be clear, this was not a choice so I'm not sure what the joke is. AoP held the project for a month and then gave it back with no warning. They are great but made a crucial overestimation on their end in which we ended up paying the consequences. Gambler's received and tested a sample and gave back immediate responses eventually confirming to take on the project which I then was able to update you guys with. This is the kind of communication needed to make this project go through so I'm happy that they are taking it on and feel confident in their ability to assemble these. In this scenario they are literally picking up not just the slack but the entire project that AoP dropped.

AoP can do business as usual for premium fees but aren't able to fulfill outside the norm - weak performance by AoP.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
I must say that the way Alex managed both releases (UNBROKEN and this) was very poor for his standard. I always enjoy doing business with him, but with this massive delay and total lack of updates, makes me rethinking it. Maybe I can better spend my money on others great designers/creators who sometimes I avoid supporting cause they are releasing at the same time of another release from Alex (and we know Alex's decks are not cheap).
Just hope that these decks are delivered soon (whatever that means...)

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
wow this update only came because i and some others spoke up
pretty sad to see thats what it takes to get an update around here
maybe next time a less complex tuck case would be better suited for the annual decks
remember chin
its not all about doing everything to the next level to which AoP has to turn away your complicated tuck assembly
but thx again for the update but a little to late if you ask me

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
I got an email update. Judging by this post ~4 hours later
I’m perhaps going a little soft in my old age, but I’ll give Alex the benefit of the doubt. This is, as far as I can remember, the only time he’s “missed” this badly. Delays happen for whatever reason, we’re just not accustomed to them from Seasons. I’d hate to see what you guys would be like with another Kickstarter I backed back in 2016, which was due to be finished in 4 waves ending last December. It’s currently a quarter of the way through Wave 3, some 3 years after Wave 2. And it looks like the “final wave” is also going to be split.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
Maybe the joke is AoP not testing a sample and giving a heads up that they cannot execute the project. I'd expect AoP to at least communicate to you that hey, we tried a sample but hit a road block and trying different technique or whatever. Did they communicate this at least? Of course AoP screwed up but if they did not attempt on a sample and not communicate early and waited for a month to eventually give is even terrible. I'd have followed up suspecting that AoP is probably screwing up. IDK, of course AoP's mistake and not your on this mishap.IAmTheChin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 3:56 pmGambler's received and tested a sample and gave back immediate responses eventually confirming to take on the project which I then was able to update you guys with.

Re: 2020 NPCCD Hindsight Edition
I'm one of the big backers of this project and, as such, was reading this thread with interest but was otherwise planning to keep my mouth shut. And, then I saw this:
1) Ever since the beginning of the NPCCD series, Alex has been experimenting with tucks as well as cards, and exploring themes in truly great detail. Alex has released several other excellent decks that don't push the limits with regard to the tuck boxes, but the NPCCD series has been ALL ABOUT THE TUCKS AS WELL AS THE CARDS. I mean, really. "Maybe next time a less complex tuck case would be better suited for the annual decks." The elaborate tucks have become a hallmark of this series! The tucks for this year's decks are the reasons I backed this project so hard.
Lotrek's decks are occasionally a little late, too. Perhaps he should stop trying to be pushing the envelope so hard on his printing techniques?
Gio's decks, for the first time ever, are starting to experience delays too, lately. Maybe he should stop trying to draw new images of pretty ladies?
Or, mayyyybe, *everybody* is experiencing delays these days, and we should all continue to buy the decks that interest us and realize that they might run a little later than they have in past years.
2) Alex reported in his e-mail to backers that GW has actually proven they can assemble these special tucks, which leads one to believe that maybe the problem isn't with the next level tucks, but rather, the problem is with AoP not being up to the task and failing to let Alex know that earlier.
3) I get that a bunch of folks here have been unhappy with the lack of communication, but hating on a designer because he keeps trying to top his previous work? Really? Really?
Dude.
A couple things:
