These are bad in pretty much every way that you can fathom.

I kinda like ‘em, but I’m also not a magician or cardist.
The campaign itself is absurdly convoluted, though.

Convoluted is an understatement, lol.

I really wonder if that campaign will deliver... $5,000 for USPCC(!) hot foil stamped on both sides of the cards?
Plus paying how much designers? Printed on the web press?

I don't know, I don't often do kickstarters, like almost never but campaigns like this are exactly one of the reasons for that. Uncut sheet layout looks nothing like the USPCC uncut looks. I doubt they even are in contact with USPCC. Too puzzling.

Likewise I've backed, but also ready to pull my foot out at any time. However, things don't look that sketchy if this was a cyberpunk online store that just ventured into playing cards. If you check their website and think that they go with web press with a minimum of 10,000 copies, it's likely that they've reduced the funding goal to make it as cheap as possible for backers and to double the price for the overprints---to be sold at premium price on their online retail.

Makes sense to me but they REALLY did a poor job of researching the playing card market and how to create a user-friendly description.

Honestly, I really like the look of the card artwork. I am tempted to back just to see what I actually get. As others have said earlier, this campaign is convoluted and very vague as to what is actually being sold. Here are the red flags/serious issues I have:

- What does the Cyber Crisis Collection Deck look like?
- In the luxury acrylic box set, we see three different colors of Wasteland Rebels - no image of Elysion or Cyber Crisis. Why are there three colors of Wasteland Rebels?
- "Card edges are gilded" - SHOW US. Prove it.
- Poker Chips! Pin Badges! Cyber Crisis ID Cards!
- "Elegant 3D mechanism tuckbox" - "unique tuckbox structure" - SHOW US. Prove it. It looks pretty standard to me!

This campaign is vague and confusing AF. Think "Card College" tiers without actually showing us what we are actually getting. I will sit this one out and pay retail if it turns out to be something special. Again, the artwork seems fantastic, but which artwork belongs to which deck? What do ALL the decks look like? Are there five versions? Three?

Finally, I will leave you with the most insulting part of this campaign: the mid-90's Microsoft Office Wordart tuckbox design.

so I backed this one... really liked the art, but did anyone else get scammed off this? the comments on KS are all the same - the cards are AWFUL...

registration is bad on every card, gilding comes off on your hands and was already scuffed in places when I opened the decks, I had the plastic film peeling off several cards, cards stuck together, the decks barely fit in the tucks (several of which were damaged), the cuts were bad enough that sitting on a table you can see the different sizes and there were several people on KS saying they were missing cards (although honestly they stick together so bad I wouldn't be surprised if they had them but didn't know it)

the like stretch goals/add-ons were almost worse too... the "play mat" is literally a plastic table cloth (even has frilly edges to it) and has a scantly clad anime girl on it like wtf am I going to do with this? lol... they mentioned seals that I guess didn't happen? not a single seal on any of the decks.. the coin is the only good thing from this campaign, but even that arrived in a plastic case that had somewhat shattered and I had to pick plastic shards out of the case they came in... which is another negative - the plastic three deck case is super cheap, the lid doesn't close all the way, it's opaque so you can't even see the decks inside... basically nothing like the one they showed on the campaign page which was clear and had a hexagon emblem on it

just altogether an absolute mess and I'm almost embarrassed to say I put money out for these because I can't do anything with them lol who would even want to buy these? they look used right out of the box.. they did respond to several people commenting on KS with a support email address so I'm at least going to stay somewhat optimistic I can get refunded for these...

Couldn't find any mention of a printer at first so I thought "well duh", but they actually had this in the FAQ of the campaign:
Whose printing these cards?

Printed by USPCC's high-end casino web press, exclusively in Premium Quality
So yeah, that's a scam if the cards are as bad as you say.

Thanks for sharing your experience. This had red flags all up in my face, so I am relieved to see I made the right decision and sad you had to deal with that garbage. Just out of curiosity, did they produce any kind of elegant 3D mechanism tuck box for any of the versions?

To their defense...

... at least the registration is at USPCC level quality.

yes for the black version it does have 3D elements... there's a little sleeve at the bottom that comes off so it opens up but as cool as that is you can see where it was damaged from being in that little sleeve, which unsurprisingly was also damaged so that when you slide the tuck back in the bottom pushes out because it's been bent and crumbled from the tuck being put in it (I'll save you the continued photos of just how bad it was and just show the 3D part lol)

if you read it you might also notice they clearly didn't bring in anyone to properly do the translation because there are several grammar errors :\

WOW, so pretty much a complete rip-off of Card College    Thanks for the info! No wonder they didn't share images during the campaign. They were busy trying to re-create the Card College tucks!

I wouldn't go so far to say rip-off. Truth is behind the packaging there is a manufacturer that comes up with that stuff. Neither the Card College guys nor these fellows came up with that idea.
