I might buy one to never open it, it looks that good since I have the poker version.

:My new Tigers Matchbook edition arrived (just one ). I do like the bolder colors, which is a nice change from the first edition. I like both color combinations TBH. Mine wasn't signed, so I guess I didn't get mine ordered fast enough (typical), but I sure tried to order it quickly. So, those first 100 must have gone in a flash.

I got my two decks yesterday. I double checked and my order was placed at 12:01, but I still wasn’t fast enough to score signed decks. They still look nicer than the first edition though so I’m happy with the order.

The V2 matchbox isn't as bright as it seems and the red seal blocks some of the details of the tuck...since I'm not opening it.

This is odd. I ordered mine on Friday and it came today SIGNED. I don't understand since there were less than 500 in stock but I won't complain.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Ya! we screwed up a bit on the Signed Tigers boxes. This was my new shipping crew's first product launch and I didn't communicate with them correctly on the signed decks. If you feel like you should have gotten one you're more than welcome to send it back and I'lll sign it for you.
Just email support@kingswildproject.com to set it up.

Re: Tigers by Kings Wild Project
The new Tigers Limited Gilded decks released today. To be bluntly honest, I really wasn't sure I wanted to get them. I sure have lost interest in trying to grab something that sells out in a fraction of a second. That just is wasting my time, which has been proven repeatedly. I am just too slow to compete for whatever reason.
However, my little brain kicked into gear right before the decks were released to the general public, and I checked the website and found something like 150 remaining. So, do I let $54 bar me from maintaining a fairly complete Tigers collection? I did deliberate the issue for a bit and concluded this time I would go ahead and get the deck. I do like the limited tucks. That said, I am getting very less than interested in more Tigers versions. At this point, I am getting happy to call mine the "Early Collection" of Tigers and leave it at that.
Even now as the decks have been available to the general public, there are almost the same number still available. I do figure they will sell out soon enough. It may be that non-subscribers felt their chances would be less than zero, much like I was surprised to see they were still available.
Anyway, one more Tigers deck. If interested, and you read this quickly, there are something like 142 still available.

Re: Tigers by Kings Wild Project
Well, I don't know, guys. It seems to me they must have found the perfect price point. They sold most of them right away; they still have a little over a hundred left which means the remaining stock will eventually sell out, but not super fast. If they'd priced it in a higher bracket, they'd be sitting on stock that wouldn't move and would eventually have to cheapen the lot with a fire sale (which devalues the brand), and if they had charged less, they'd have sold out super fast, indicating they left money on the table.
I'm guessing these will trickle out until they are sold out without them having to drop the price. KWP wins because they got full value for their product; the customers win because they don't feel cheated by having the product sell out so fast they didn't have time to act. Seems like a win all the way around to me.
YMMV, of course.
PS: calling these "utter trash" is kinda harsh. More than a few of us have signified that we like the design by buying the original ungilded deck. If gilded is not your cuppa, then c'est la vie. I like gilded just fine, although I have not pulled the trigger on this one because it's more than I would prefer to spend. But, really, dude. Trash?

Re: Tigers by Kings Wild Project
While blue is my favourite color, i dont mind if I missed this gilded Tigers. I started to feel Gilding is very VERY overrated. Take a standard deck, any deck, stamp metallic foil of any color, then BOOM there ya go, a gilded variant. Calling to all collectors that mostly will never see the gilding, and you get an easy 50$ Income per deck. Feel free to roast me if you think I am a collector who got burned out with these gilded variants.
If a deck has gilding which is part of the theme and design, then sure, I try to get it. Example: Parlour Dynastinae: change the color to green from the Black, and add Golden Gilding; Tale of the Tempest Dynastinae (currently in fixing): green stock with green gilding (i think). Or maybe if it’s edge printing, i would love a few of those

Gilding a deck like Tigers that is all vintage design feels like a misfire. Then to do it in that blue...OY!

Re: Tigers by Kings Wild Project
I second what rousselle. I don't feel bad about my purchase at all. In fact, I am glad I didn't have to fight folks for the deck, so I will take that as a win. The price was fine. I also think the blue gilding does make sense based on the deeper colors, including blue used on the v2 redesign. My favorite Tigers design is the V1 limited with the Tigers in a one-way design. However, I do like the Tigers in a two way design as my second favorite of the three versions.

Normally I avoid that gilding style, but the blue does indeed echo the stripe around the back design, and I’m a sucker for matchboxes. Grabbed one earlier today.

For the first part, antique high class brands/cards like Congress came most of the times gilded to make them longer lasting and protected against mold/humidity. A plain gold or silver gilding would be more than authentic (although Tigers were a cheap brand, you could argue), that blue prism gilding though... OY! indeed.wingedpotato wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:50 pm Gilding a deck like Tigers that is all vintage design feels like a misfire. Then to do it in that blue...OY!

Personally I think the blue fractal gilding looks pretty good. I'm not really getting the hate for it.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

There is always someone thinking the mona lisa would look better with a neon pink mustache, glitter and some diffraction foil highlights on her dress...
Tastes differ. If you like what is offered, all power to you. Bad taste is as equally valid as good taste. No hate at all.
To end on a positive note for that edition; thanks to bdawg it's not the ugliest deck shared in this thread.

I should have clarified by saying a modern-style, shiny new gilding on a a vintage-style, "weathered" deck is what I think looks strange.Harvonsgard wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 12:43 amFor the first part, antique high class brands/cards like Congress came most of the times gilded to make them longer lasting and protected against mold/humidity.
