Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
I came across these on Aether
"The Spare Room and Henson have come together to create a limited edition deck of Fraggle Rock playing cards produced by the US Playing Card Company. Featuring all your favorite Fraggles in fine form, plus recipes and other words of wisdom from The Spare Room."

I really like these, and was going to order a deck, but shipping was just under $18 for 1 deck. Oh well...

You might want to order 2 to bring the cost per deck down

Re: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
I live near The Hollywood Roosevelt hotel where The Spare Room is located. I'll call them later today to see if they stock these at their actual store or if it's just an online thing. IF THEY DO STOCK IT LOCAL, I can probably get some and ship them to those of you who want it. I'll let you all know...

This doesn't seem like something they'd sell in their gift shop, but I'd love to know what you find out.

Re: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
I created the initial post at Aether the other day after I purchased some from the Spare Room. I also live in Hollywood and was able to save the $$$ on shipping by just stopping in. Unfortunately i couldn't make the 30th Anniversary party last week, but this deck was created to celebrate the Fraggle's 30th anniversary. I was told they had 2500 printed. The custom court cards in this Fraggle deck remind me of the JAQK deck...same design company? Regardless, i think they did a really great job. Clean lines and very beautiful tuck box.
You're right though, the shipping is ridiculous mainly because UPS is the only option. The Spare Room isn't really set up for small item/single deck distribution the way T11 or D&D would be....they are a speakeasy style lounge at the Roosevelt Hotel that just so happens to have some merchandise to sell. Their playing cards prior to this were cool, but the plaid design was too dark for the room. Outside in the light you could see the pattern, but not inside. I'm sure they will change that in their second edition.
Here are some photos I took of the original Spare Room cards:

Those are also $10 each and only available if you visit them in person (although they may send you some if you call them).Magic_Orthodoxy wrote:oh wow I want a deck of spare room plaid cards
They are trying to expand the website to include more items.

Re: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
Well... that's a lot of work. But I was going to try to go tomorrow anyway... <dramatic sigh> So I'll need orders (and money) in by 5pm PST tomorrow.Magic_Orthodoxy wrote:OR! Someone could go in with an order for ALL of us....and mail them out.. to us.... (COUGH!) (COUGH!)
Remember it's $10, plus 9% California Sales Tax. So $10.90 each (plus applicable shipping charges). I won't even charge you for my time and gas
Message me and we can work out shipping before you Paypal me the total.
Also remember Paypal fees may apply (approximately 3%) depending on how you send the money (as a "gift" or "for goods or services").
Happy to help spread some Fraggle love (or the Plaid Spare Room love).

Hey, that spare room looks very nice. Has a classy look to it. As a side note if anyone is considering taking Sharpster up on his offer do so with confidence, he has helped out a number of tomes.

Re: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
For those who took advantage of this opportunity, be advised I'll be doing a mass shipment tomorrow.
Also a reminder for the few that have not paid for their decks yet.
I'll hold onto your order for a few more days, but then I'll have to let them go. Please be sure to follow up.

Re: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
I placed an order for 2 decks from them despite the ridiculous shipping rate. When I saw my final PayPal charge, it looks like they adjusted the shipping from $18 down to $13, which was nice of them to do.vmagic wrote:They say they are working on their shipping options.

Yeah, the phone number is off by one digit at the bottom of the page, but correct in the middle. Go figure.badpete69 wrote:I got my decks today but one of them was damaged...I sent an email back to them as the phone number listed does not work
Helps to know that one of the area codes for LA is 323, not 373

Just got my 2 decks from Sharpie - they were perfectly packaged and arrived in pristine condition. Big props to Sharpie for helping out fellow UC members like this!

they have changed shipping cost, now the use usps priority mail for $6.69.
I had email them about using the post office (I think they were using ups), never got a response but I went to the site today to order and noticed the change.

Re: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary playing cards
I just checked the shipping, they have USPS available as an option now. I live in NorCal so shipping would've only been $6 some odd dollars which I believe is the priority small box flat rate amount. Anyone that was holding off because of shipping may want to check again.
BTW - The pics of their Monopoly set are amazing. Next time I'm down south I'll have to check this place out.
