[Romeril] My Collection and Display
I thought I would take a moment and share my collection with all of you. I started collecting last year and have only just recently found this forum. I've been a member here for a couple of weeks and am looking forward to being part of the community here.
I've been lucky, my wife has been supportive of my new hobby. She is much more creative than I am; last Christmas she gifted me some things to help me display my growing collection. Ok, I'd like to say that I'm not picking favorites here... but, that's exactly what I'm doing, I'm picking favorites (disclaimer: I'm new to playing cards and am sure that there are many designers that I have not yet discovered that will make it in my list of favorites) So in the following pictures are my beginnings of collections of cards from my favorite designers. In no particular order.
First up Stockholm17: Alex Chin:

I just figured out that I could only put 4 pictures in a post. So continuing in this reply:
Theory 11: Here are two that I don't have a lot from, but definitely want more. Thirdway Industries and Guru Playing Card Company: And last but certainly not least, my Kings Wild Collection:

Wow, I love your displays and you have some great cards there. I can't see much cellophane - do you open all your decks?

Always a challenge for my display methods to keep up with my number of decks but you seem to be killing it! If you want more images in a post I upload images to imgur and link that into the post. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Re: [Romeril] My Collection and Display
So, this weekend, I tried my hand at making an impossible bottle. It turned out... ok. But I guess not bad for my first.

Re: [Romeril] My Collection and Display
You have a great collection of cards. It is hard to disagree with your selections. Heck, your JR subscription number is right next to mine even (#131). I started listing other creators, but I would be sure to leave some off. As you hang around, you will find some others that will catch your fancy.
I really like your display, it has a great vibe for it and is not overly cluttered and stocked with a really good selection of decks.

I like the stack of books and the lightbulb, really nice touch! It kind of reminds me of The Gentleman Wake's setup, that late 19th/turn of 20th century feel.

Thanks for the compliment ICantShuffle! My wife and I worked together and turned that DaVinci Code book into a lamp. We're pleased with how it turned out. It was our trial run; we've got plans to make another with a hidden compartment, like the Theory11 Contraband lamp. I think we'll also install a dimmer switch in that one.

Makes sense. DaVinci Code is light reading.

She killed it for sure - your display is worlds better and more interesting than most setups (decks on shelves)Romeril wrote:I've been lucky, my wife has been supportive of my new hobby. Re: [Romeril] My Collection and Display
Wow... Just so dope.
Really nice display with a lot of details. I especially like that metal thing (hell, I don't even know how it is called in my mother tongue ^^) with the Voyager, Drifters and the Sons of Liberty deck and more in it. The Impossible bottle is pretty cool, too. I like the shape, fits the war of independence era vibe of the deck, imo.

Sweet. Is that the lamp from Theory 11? Your impossible bottle looks fantastic to me. Certainly better than just "ok". Nice collection!
Yes, I am Lorenzo's first patron. What? You're so naive. Of course that gives me superpowers.

Re: [Romeril] My Collection and Display
Wow, even better than before! This is still probably the best display I've seen, it's got tons of character compared to your standard wood/glass shelves
Can we get closeups of each display case?? What's in the coin display case, just card-related coins or others too?

Re: [Romeril] My Collection and Display
It’s kind of annoying that some of the pics show up sideways here; but if you click on it, it opens up in the correct orientation. Weird.

I fix that issue by slightly cropping the 4:3 photo and it orients correctly.
