Looks very, very sweet. Clove St. Press always kills it.
Thank godness it's printed in China; I couldn't justify not picking up this deck otherwise .

Any idea of the courts? I already have the original Sherlock decks so not sure why I'd want these.

I'd be very surprised if it isn't the same court set of the original SH. Usually JR is showing off court creation when he's doing new stuff (Oz, etc.).

Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
At $15 for a standard deck, I would think getting one would be a no-brainer either way. That said, you might want to wait until you have a big enough order to get free shipping and such. While his standard decks at $15 are a bit more than a Theory 11 standard at $10, I think you get more than enough to justify the extra $5.Any idea of the courts? Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
Being in the UK it's probably close to $25 shipped to me per deck even with delayed shipping. Not a no brainer when I can get blinged and/or new designs for that price.Bradius wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 1:52 pm At $15 for a standard deck, I would think getting one would be a no-brainer either way. I believe this version is supposed to be foiled so it’ll be shiny even if it recycles the same art. I imagine it’ll be like how last year’s Arthurian was basically the same as the original but with foil.

Damn, I was not prepared for those courts!
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Anyone know if these will be available outside of subscription?

Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
If it follows the pattern of the 2020 decks: 1) The month after release, there will be a chance for members to buy more 2) Remainders will open to the public a few days later 3) There have always been standard decks available, I'm not sure how long the limited versions last. Of course, if JR prints less this time, etc., who knows? I'm regretting not keep my subscription a little longer. These are a great re-working of the original art and I'm delightfully surprised.phantom1412 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 9:16 am Anyone know if these will be available outside of subscription?

Usually the subscription is for standard only, right? Then the limited deck will be available to members first? Then public?wingedpotato wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:04 amIf it follows the pattern of the 2020 decks: 1) The month after release, there will be a chance for members to buy more 2) Remainders will open to the public a few days later 3) There have always been standard decks available, I'm not sure how long the limited versions last. There are subscriptions for limited decks also, but I think they are all taken. Someone else would know better than I.phantom1412 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:24 amUsually the subscription is for standard only, right? Then the limited deck will be available to members first? Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
I don't know if the limited subscriptions are sold out, but it looks like it. There does not appear to be a way right now to select one of the limited or gilded subscriptions. That said, there usually are some left over. Depending on what they want to do, they could either put any extras up for sale to current subscribers or hold them for some kind of special sale or auction. If they do offer any extra limited decks and the subscribers don't pick them up in like a month, then it goes to the general public to pick any up. I wouldn't get your hopes up for any extras to be released. If you really want a limited, I would suggest reaching out to Dentyne. He has typically had a set or two for sale at reasonable prices.

Robin Hood and Beowolf are mine preferred KWP desk of 2020 so I can't wait for new story themed decks!

Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
I really need to know the name of the characters for the courts in Robin Hood and Beowulf. For Robin Hood, think I can identify most of them, but not for the Beowulf

Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
Yeah, I got this today, too. My first and last sub deck! I will just wait until "Christmas Before Christmas" at the end of this year to pick up the rest with free shipping.
It's too bad they couldn't keep the delayed shipping program. I wonder how many others will opt out?

Hey peeps! Let me know what you think about the thickness and handling of the sherlocks we tried a new thinner Cardistry stock for these, to try and make progress forward and get an overall thinner more better handling deck.

Re: [KWP Shorts Jan. 2021] Sherlock Holmes
It is slightly thinner than say Robin Hood, and just a hair thicker than my Sovereign deck that was printed at USPCC. Handling is just not there compared with the Sovereign deck TBH. It doesn't fan as well. It is stiffer and has less spring. It just doesn't have it for handling yet. That said, I like this deck for other reasons. However, if it was a deck for cardistry? Hard pass. Luckily for you, I am no cardist.
For some reason the color printing over the foil doesn't impress me as much as what I have seen from Montenzi using Cartamundi. I mean with both I can see the printing dots, but it seems more obvious to me on this deck compared to say the UC #7 deck. It also seems darker or duller. One problem I see is say in "221B" on the backs. There is shading on the numbers that makes it look more like a printing error. It definitely makes the image blurry to me. It just doesn't have the desired effect IMHO. That all said, I do like the deck. I just think you need to figure out what works best with this type of printing as it is going to be different on your computer than in final production. I get the challenges in using new processes.

Jackson!! This is exactly what I was talking about in the chat on Deckin Around on Thursday, but you laughed at me and said it was the same stock!JacksonRobinson wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 11:35 am Hey peeps! It is noticeably thinner, feels better in the hand, handles better and I can also fit the deck in a sleeve. The other recent KWP EPCC decks don’t even come close to getting in a sleeve.
Please switch to this stock from EPCC
Here’s a few pics comparing it to Robin Hood:
