Anubis & Osiris Shadow by Steve Minty

Unread post by Adonael »

Now, I might be jumping the gun here, but everything about the teaser below that Minty showed on social media screams Anubis & Osiris from the colours to the style of the face to the rings in the background. The possibility is very exciting, fans have been wanting this for years, the prices for the original decks are outrageous on the aftermarket! Of course they would need to have foiled backs like the originals, and I can't imagine what he would do for the Signature editions now that he's known for his crazy unique signature decks. Unfortunately I missed the Ascension campaigns due to financial reasons even though I particularly liked Vol. 2, but I would do everything I could to get in on a Vol. 2 of this series lol. If I'm right my original pair will have some friends, but if not I'll sadly remove this thread. Edit: Yay it was all real, but where are the expected signature decks?

Oh boy, I hope so!! It took me a long time and a lot of money to get the Anubis and Osiris decks I have. I thought I had heard somewhere he was working on this.

Yes I saw this too and was wondering the same. I heard there will be different colours. I hope we still get fouled backs, preferably hot foil!

I’m still missing an original Osiris (open deck would be great)!

Separately, I think Ascension vol 2 is still available through backerkit, if u are ready to get in on it.

Still missing the V1's, so a V2 would be good!

Strangely enough, when I read the discussion about reprints in another thread, I immediately thought that this is a deck that badly needs a reprint. I'd rate it as one of the best ever made, a real classic among collectable decks. Needless to say I'd want a few of these, I was lucky enough to get an Osiris on secret sale but still no Anubis at all.

I don't understand how this would translate into Anubis Orisis V2 personally. I mean it could be a re-imagining of Tintin and Snowy for all we see here. BUT I love the excitement. It's always great to see hope and speculation about someone's upcoming something, no matter what the project may be. Since we don't know what that is, I'ma go with Tintin and Snowy and be all kinds of  and :D when it turns out to be ANYTHING else. ;)

Aside from everything @Adonael said,
CLUE ONE: Hieroglyphic looking eye
CLUE TWO: Egyptian looking hound
CLUE THREE: Steve just released his first "v2" series and it was very successful; he may want to duplicate on that success with one of his most acclaimed series.

Could be wrong but educated guess IMO.

How much is a set of the v1 nowadays anyway? I was lucky to snag a set during one of Steve's secret sales at retail price.

Couldn't say, I don't follow the after market at all. Great on snag grabbing for retail though. I'm pretty sure they're sold out it was a 2016 deck if I recall correctly. :)

I'm sure you often mistake Master Chief for Iron Man too because they both happen to wear a helmet lol. Like I said it's just a guess and I could be wrong, but there are just so many obvious clues that I hope I'm not! The originals are going for around 75-90USD each these days confirmed sales.

I wasn't interested in Ascension V2, and I doubt I'll be interested in these. I understand the interest from those who missed out on the initial campaign, though.

I'm very happy that it starts to get normal for creators to reprint their successful and sought after decks. Now officialy announced Anubis is coming to Steve's website after the fulfillment of the second Ascencion set.

As someone who did get the V1's, I gotta say: I was expecting them to be good, but when I opened them after they first arrived, I was stunned at how awesome they were.

If y'all get a chance at some new version of these, I expect you won't be disappointed. The originals were very tasty.

And, of course, I'm in for any V2s. :)

I was not collecting when these first came out. I was able to get several of each over time, even a gilded deck of each. These have always been some of my favorite decks. I am excited to see the changes made and I will be supporting this campaign.

These decks are one of my all time favourites.

The gold foil on the card backs combined with the design is amazing.

Definitely jumping on this. I wish he would expand his pantheon a bit. Lots of Egyptian gods to pick from.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.
