Not hyped yet, although I'm open to it when more previews come along. I hope they really let loose, I just wouldn't want it to end up looking like a Theory11 deck, not a bad thing in itself but we have more than enough of those already lol.

I bet it will be a minimum of four versions. Two standard, one black edition with foil and of course the Dynastinae edition. I doubt it’ll come in seven versions like the Tempest, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they have one super limited edition at /200 or so.

I dont think it will max to 3 color ways
Remember, TGW has to apply the Dynastinae version. So I am guessing there are 4 max

And, I’ve seen more of the teases elsewhere, and it turned out great! If you have the Standards decks, then just imagine it would be that outlook

Whatever happens, I'm fine with the hype, but especially given how much I dropped on the Tale of the Tempest, I'll be waiting until those are in my hands before I pledge for any more. I'm not casting aspersions; this is a policy I've stuck to pretty solidly for a very long time, and have only allowed a few exceptions over the years (Jackson, Lotrek... Natalia. Gah!)

So, yeah. Bring on the hype! But, please, Omar, do what you're promising in that image and don't ask for our pledges before you've fulfilled the Tempestuous Tale...

Omar is a man of his word and he wrote that Tempest will be fulfilled beforehand so breathing time for the wallet is almost certainly given 😃.

I have heard that he will release it on Kickstarter around April/May. I think around that time, production of the TTotT should be finished and ready to go.

Besides, it’s Kevin Cantrell, how bad can it be? “Bad” as in, there are too many versions that you can’t keep up with

Hey all. Thanks for starting this thread!

I can indeed confirm that this deck will be released AFTER the Tempest has been fulfilled.

I can also confirm that this will have several versions.
2 color way standards
1 deluxe limited (cold foil)
1 Dynastinae (gilded)
1 super limited edition printed by Lotrek

5 total.

It is subject to change but this is the early plan.

Also expect a box set that will blow your mind.

In the meantime. More pics to whet the appetite. These are close to final. But there may be changes.

Back design looks very busy and reminds me of the king arthur decks.

I'm actually relieved to say that these don't wow me as much as Tempest. My wallet even moreso

I still like them, though. But I wish the back designs were less monochrome, a la the tuck box in that last pic.

I am liking these. TGW is definitely letting the designers put their own style into his decks, and I really have been impressed with the decks so far designed by Kevin Cantrell.

I think they look great, but I do agree that the back design is very busy and reminiscent of the King Arthur decks in that regard.

Definitely liking these more than other Cantrell decks, which I'm not surprised by. Especially those jokers(?). As MagikFingerz said, I would like to see a bit more color to counterbalance that busy back, but it still looks nice.

aaaaand I'm out.

On the positive side, from what I can see, the branding was toned down a lot compared to Parlour and Tempest.
Regarding the back I'd say Tom nailed it. While I don't mind monochrome backs, there are back designs that work better monochrome and some that don't. This one is the second category, imo.

I agree with the comments so far about the colour (or lack thereof) and clutter of the back design, but I am also somewhat disappointed in the courts, especially the jack and queen. Their faces strike me as somewhere between off-putting and upsetting.

Won't be backing for various reasons but in particular the design doesn't do it for me and the colours feel "muddy"

The back is extremely 2Dish, like there's all the scrollwork flavors but no depth and pop.
Maybe it's just me but Riffle Shuffle had been churning out a bunch of decks by the same idea, making this kinda bland.

Illogical (not surprising), a limited edition doesn't affect you at all in any way and has been a completely normal and regular thing since the beginning of playing card KS projects, not that you've been around that long. I would also consider toned down TGW branding a negative.

Regarding the deck itself from what we can see so far, I hate to say it but this is kinda what I was afraid of when looking at their previous work. It's perfectly fine and no doubt they'll be nice decks which do appeal to a lot of people but to me it seems a bit like a an overdone T11 deck and doesn't appeal to my personal tastes. Based on the last two projects I would expect something more daring and charming. Although lets be honest, half of collectors don't open their decks so as long as the tucks are really nice they'll be in! lol

Not sure I like the courts. The style seems to clash with the rest of the design. Their faces look far too simple and lack detail compared to the rest of the deck. Their is no nuance in their expressions.

One-dimensional (not surprising).
Praised be, that I'm not bound to your understanding of logic.
So here is a little crash course for folks with the economic sense of a toddler.
Limited does affect the costs/copy which results in a higher retail price. So the claim that it doesn't affect me at all in any way is... well... it came from you 🤷🏿‍♀️.

Furthermore will this exclusivity then be most likely bundled with only in set offerings which then again gauge the amount of money you have to spend to get it.

These business tactics being status quo (not exclusive to KS or cards anyways) still don't justify them for me.
It's partially true though, that it doesn't affect me since - as aforementioned - I'm out 😃.
Adonael wrote: Thu Dec 31, 2020 10:12 pmI would also consider toned down TGW branding a negative.

I'd estimate it's closer to 70%, and even higher if you're counting people who open some but not all of their cards - most pictures I see of collections are sealed decks. I will never understand :ugthink:
