If An Octopus Could Palm by Dan and Dave (ill. Jonathan Burton)
Art of Play starts their mystery deck sale again and vigilante observers can spot the new If An Octupus Could Palm deck in the teaser (next to the Makers).
You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash thatβs being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.

Right above it looks like the "Overlook" deck. .... I wonder what the hundred prototypes look like....

Dan and Dave did. It was released with a book as well on their (now old) website. Printed by USPCC.

I got one as part of a D&D mystery deck back when I still bought decks from them. The price for them is astonishing.

Geez...deck is going over $200 right now. Feels like the market is due for a crash if/when this one gets a wider release.

On their Instagram they said this deck will be available with an upcoming reprint of the book. Outside of the mystery decks, I think its only other way it is planned to be released.

They'll probably do the same thing as they did with the original, then - only selling the deck bundled with the book.steampunk52 wrote: βTue Dec 22, 2020 11:10 pm On their Instagram they said this deck will be available with an upcoming reprint of the book. Not entirely. Same was with Gold Standards or Gold Artisan, some folks didn't get the memo of the wider release and still payed premium for the two aforementioned decks.KingfisherZero wrote: βTue Dec 22, 2020 5:12 pm Geez...deck is going over $200 right now. Ha...and just noticing now that the Overlook deck - which I did get - going for a premium price too. People be crazy. The more I think about it, the more I think that IAOCP is going to follow the Gold Standards model. Yes, a fairly desirable deck regardless, but it's going to be trickled out so slowly into the market that it will always feel less obtainable. It will be the rarest feeling 2000+ deck run out there. Effective marketing if that's the case...just hope they don't overdo it. One deck at a time under that release model, please.Harvonsgard wrote: βWed Dec 23, 2020 7:56 amNot entirely. Is there two releases of the Overlook deck? One on ebay appears to be a gold/tan color rather than the green. Any one know if there was another limited release?

Don't go crazy over the AoP Overlook deck.
There's an Overlook deck coming to Kickstarter pretty soon, and the creator has teased this since October. Not gonna go into who copied who cos it's irrelevant, both are copies of The Shining's theme and carpet, with the KS one having a two-way back design rather than AoP's one-way (unusable) back.

50/50 - wrong thread yes, but Overlook was mentioned prior by Tim and Stud727 here so, it's kinda on-topic after the derailing of the thread, lol.
Back on track;
Back on track;
Did anyone see the courts yet? I kinda like the tuck design but knowing D$D the courts are almost doomed to be a let down.

As suspected the tuck is the best thing about that deck - recoloured standard courts

IAOCP v2 now in variety box. I think very good deal considering the Maker Private reserve too.
