Bicycle Passport

Unread post by jerichoholic »

This just hit Murphys, it's a magic deck. Maiden back or perhaps flag back in this case, lol. Also a marked deck! A bit pricey at $30 but it's more for magic I guess. Glad i'm only paying the wholesale price! :D

I think I’d really like an uncut sheet of this. But seems the deck would be impractical for most uses.

I also thought this too. Depending on how many countries are featured plus if there's any duplicates, I don't know how gameplay will be because you can remember what card is which by remembering the flag.
"When I like something, I buy. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist.

When I don't like something, I pass. No matter who did it, how many were printed or how many (re)colors exist."

Marked and with cheat sheet awesome. Let the poker nights begin 😆.
I'll pass - No Papua New-Guinea and no Bhutan - No money from me. Plus, wrong size of the Swiss flag 👎🏿.

I'm not sure what the best part about Switzerland is but the flag is a big plus.

Slightly off topic, but this style reeks to me of the old Bill Merz "trace" decks.

It is interesting to see how the graphic designs have evolved in the Trademark-sensitive USPCC era.

The new Ellusionist 1800/1900 decks preserve the Rider Back image while placing the distressing beneath it if you were to think of them as layers in Photoshop. This deck does the same with their flag designs.

The Winter Back and recent Tally Ho re-colors take it a step further and are putting colored/geometric designs underneath the white trademarked Old Fan Back design.

I'm of two minds. It's nice to see creativity go into designing despite these strict rules. However, I feel like there's a common feel/vibe to these designs, and I wonder if this will be a new/recurring theme we see in branded decks going forward.

Is Ireland spelled "Irland" in some parts of the world or is that a typo? I have never seen it spelled that way. Same with "Marocco".

It's spelled "Irland" in German. But as the cheat sheet is supposed to be in English it is a typo. "Marocco" looks like a mix. :D "Marokko" would be the German spelling.

Except these are Maiden Backs so i'm pretty sure those rules don't apply anyway. Maidens were created to circumvent such rules, lol.

My apologies. I was never good with names. I should stick to what I read and not what I think to remember. Shady memory is a b****.
