I am proud to announce a project of my own under the Curio banner. This is a fully-custom project I plan to launch the first week (or so) of January 2021. I'll update this thread along the way once I have a landing page for the Kickstarter campaign. I look forward to sharing this unique project!

Yoooooooooo this is sick. Is Bacon the first UC regular to launch his own deck?
Blazing trails my dude. Excited to see the project!
Thanks! It's hard to believe more haven't taken on a project of their own. I guess I am just used to the active creators and designers on here all the time.

Seriously. Youβve got users like Fes, Harv, Decknowledgy, etc. who constantly give walls of text worth of poignant constructive criticism, I would guessed that at the very least a designer wouldβve approached someone to collaborate.
Iβve got a couple ideas percolating, but until I learn to draw (one step at a time, yβknow? ) I defer to you.

I believe it's the designer skills. Many can critique as a collector, but don't have the designer chops to venture into this.

I wish I had the designer skills as well! To me, it's about having a vision and developing a great collaboration with an illustrator. I am so excited with how the concept has been illustrated. I will drop some more teasers each week and you can follow my designer for some behind-the-scenes images as well.

Here's an example of the early drafts she will be sharing

As a professional graphic designer (not graphic artist, there is a difference), for me it comes down to time. I have toyed with the idea multiple times, and even done a few test concepts. For me there is a monitary and time investment that I just cannot commit to. Additionally, as I dont really use social media, it creates an issue in terms of getting word out successfully. Thats my experience tho, ymmv.
BadPete developed a concept with some folks who were successful card designers/promoters here (I can't recall off the top my head their name... the Scott Bros? Scotti Bros? Scott James? They had a number of successful projects before they disappeared.) I'm not sure why the project fizzled, but it was at about the same time that his collaborators fizzled out, so that probably had something to do with it.
Victor Jose (VJose, Jericoholic, et al) designed a deck, and I have one of the prototypes. Not sure why that didn't go further, either, but Victor is still here on the boards and active in the community.
Sprouts' concept was freakin' off the hook, but it needed more work and he ended up wandering off, as well. I miss Sprouts.
I'm really looking forward to your project, Baconwise! Bring on the teaser images!
I feel like one of those teenage journalists working for the high school paper, getting a hot scoop 20 minutes before it gets announced to everyone on the intercom, yet feeling like youβve got a permanent backstage pass nonetheless. Anyone else see the insta live a couple nights ago? ))

I didn't even know I was going live that night
I guess it just turned into a "while you're here, wanna see some things?"
