I can't believe Ellusionist wants $30K for a successful KICKSTARTER campaign. Why do a Kickstarter?
Move on, nothing to see here.

Yeah not sure why they are doing this on KS. Clearly they've already started printing since they promised the first batch by Xmas.

Ellusionist is doing some really STRANGE things to their brand recently...

Couldn't agree more. However their prices remain reasonable (2 deck EB for $17, shipped in the first 24hrs.). That's about the only positive thing I can say about them recently. Unfortunately it seems like they peeked with the Prohibition set. Since then it's been a lot of white noise for the most part.

I am not a huge fan of E but I do like their bee decks and that EB price is pretty good.

The 24 hr EB special is interesting. Though, I just noticed you do not get the Kickstarter exclusive gold tuck. I would like to grab that but it jumps the price up to $32 after shipping in the US. Not sure if it is worth the extra to get a Kickstarter exclusive.

Definitely. I guess as long as it creates buzzz 🐝, E! is happy.

I don't think it's strange for E to bee making money. It's what E does. My taste and E's decks don't tend to align very often these past few years and this is no exception. This one isn't to my taste. (To be honest none of their Bee decks have been.) I am enjoying their campaign and I love that honey drip deck to tuck gif. Noice!

These aren't bad at all. The gilded one is pretty sharp! Seems like E has moved away from it's annoying hype-machine past over the last few months.

Got mine the other day and they're great, took some debating on whether to open the special envelope for the gold queen deck lol finally did and it had a small scratch in the corner 😢 still looks pretty good though I'm glad I got in on this

My gilded is a bit scratched as well. I think they should have cello wrapped it instead of putting in the bag.

The packaging makes for a very interesting experience; neither better nor worse than the typical cello. I tend not to like seals, and the unfortunate thing is that when you open the package, you are essentially ripping it open, so that's too bad. But, once you're inside, there are no seals; no cello. Mine weren't scuffed at all, so I'm happy with that (but I can understand not being happy if they had been!)

These decks are okay. They aren't the kind of experimentation like the Prohibition set that make you sit up and say, Wow! But, they are also not the same ol', same ol', and as such, I'm glad that E is still experimenting and trying new things. I'm glad the art and design are a departure from the usual, as is the KS channel as opposed to their normal website. I got the early bird special, so the pricing was agreeable, as well. I'm glad that E is still trying to innovate. Their innovations have contributed a great deal to our hobby over the years, and I'm glad they're still in the mix. I hope they learned some useful lessons from this experiment, and I look forward to their future efforts.

I am also glad to see them trying instead of over-hyping substandard decks. It seems like the company in changing it's focus and thats just fine with me. I have gotten fed up with them over the years, but I have to remind myself they were one of the reasons I got into this hobby to begin with.
