First of all I want to apologize for not having posted an update sooner as I know many of you are eager to understand what's happening with both of my Kickstarter projects. The past few months have been extremely busy for me and I've been meaning to post an update and keep you in the loop but haven't had time to really organize my thoughts and write an update of any real value. I should have at least posted something short and quick but I didn't and I'm sorry and I promise to keep you updated more regularly moving forward.
Two and a half months ago we welcomed a new baby into our household which has been absolutely amazing but also time and energy consuming. On top of that, due to the Corona virus issues that we're all facing, our older son's preschool has been closed so he's been at home all day every day. And in addition, projects at my day job have gotten much busier. All of this adds up to me being extremely busy and exhausted most of the time and honestly I just haven't had time to make much progress with any of my Vanda projects, which I handle entirely by myself.
The USPC has been closed for a while due to the virus as well, which means delays in all production for all customers on their end. They recently reopened though so the queue should start moving forward at this point.
The good news is that both of these projects will still move forward and the decks will still be produced and sent out as I know you are just as excited as I am to see these get printed. At this point there will be delays and I'm not yet sure what the new timeline will look like yet but I assure you these decks will eventually get into your hands.
In the meantime, I have a few other exciting tidbits to share which I will post about as soon as I can find time to put together all the details on everything. So please stay tuned for some fun announcements!
I very much appreciate your ongoing patience and understanding of delays and just ask that you continue to be patient and I will keep you updated of any progress on my end.
Definitely great to see him re-surface. I imagine the June target will be pushed to August or September with the delays but I am happy to see some life coming back to his projects.
No update in two months after David profusely apologized for his lack of updates in the months prior to his September update. Per his comments on the update:
David Goldklang wrote:Yes, USPC has the files, they've gone through proofing and are in the production queue.
Even with COVID, the timeframe makes no sense to have such a long turnaround after proofs are already approved. So, is he sitting on a bunch of printed decks and just hasn't found the time to update us? Have they even been printed? That seems to be one of the most crucial updates you see in a campaign: "Cards are printed!" Where's the celebration? Such a shocking campaign in all the wrong ways. Naturally, there are plenty of recent comments by backers requesting a refund. Not looking good for Vanda.
Since the excuses are personal and work related, I don't really expect any more detail from him. I imagine this is a very stressful time for him. We will see our decks, sooner or later.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.

Going to disagree with this. He is non-responsive to comments and DMs (including on various social media) even though he logged into KS as recently as 7 days ago. He also missed his promise to start shipping these as per his last post on November 16th;
The good news is that the tuckboxes are printed and the decks are now assembled. All that's left is for me to sift through the BackerKit details and make sure that the GW fulfillment team has everything they need to get your orders shipped. At this point I expect shipping will start next week. GW is now sending me samples of the final decks so I'll take and share photos with you all as soon as I have them.
I saw people on reddit that did order from his website finally got a shipment update from fedex about their packages being prepared, we'll have to see if they actually do get delivered though...
If he does still deliver maybe there's a chance his kickstarter project isn't dead yet and he's trying to get more funds to actually fullfill his kickstarters or something.
If he delivers on his site orders it maybe does give some hope he still could deliver on his kickstarters as well...
For my part it's clear I'd never buy from this guy again. (I have never actually, but I certainly won't start now)
I've made an order during this sale on their website. After 1 week I received a tracking number but it isn't yet shipped. I'll post any news when I'll have them.
There was a Reddit post today about a Vanda haul. I asked if it was from his $7 sale and he confirmed it. Looks like Vanda is actually shipping decks, at least from the site...

I will say my sale order did randomly show up today, I'll at least give that it must be a FedEx mistake that mine still said "printed label" but I'd also say they're way behind on fulfilling those and ignoring emails
I ordered from them on January 21st and I got the decks yesterday. So, it took almost 3 weeks from purchase to get them. A week to print the label, another week to get it to FedEx and they delivered it in about 3 days.
Also from all this I was nervous and messaged them in various ways and there was no response whatsoever.
If it turns out that he doesn't use this money to fulfill the Kickstarters he still owes people product or refunds on, it pretty much sucks that people supported giving him even more money.
So I just got an email via Backerkit giving me one last chance to change my address. No comms at all directly from David and he still hasn't logged into KS since December.
I also got that email. I do not know what is happening with him and his KS projects but I think he is trying to fulfill the project. If he was not, then this email would not have been sent out. Not saying we will actually see any decks but I think this is a positive sign.
I agree, I think he really does want this project to be fulfilled. I've always enjoyed his work, and I honestly hope to back another project from him in the future once his life stabilizes.
I've spent way more than I care to admit on playing cards, but I'll still buy just about anything that Lorenzo, Jackson, or Gio make.
I think the biggest mistake he can make at this point is to avoid Kickstarter. True, the comments are incredibly toxic, but I think he can use this development in the campaign to bring people back to the brand. He can come up with whatever excuse he wants but I think he needs to dive in and try to salvage something or his Mesoamerica follow-up will be a sad campaign.

I don't disagree but maybe his personality is to avoid conflict and he is hoping that by just fulfilling the pledges without contact will make everything honky-dory with his backers.
